North Carolina Guys using Joseph Walters Insurance.

I'm not doing roofs, I decided against that after my insurance company threatened to cancel me. I Know it is 5.2 per hundred of payroll for pressure washing and 18.3 or something for roofs(working on roofs not just cleaning them) I do a lot of gutter cleaning and I am not giving away 18% if I don't have too. I'll stick to residential. Oh yeah and they arbitrarily start off sole proprietors that don't have a payroll at $42,000. That's what the starting rate is based on.

So if I say I am doing half pressure washing and half gutter cleaning W.C would be around $4,900

$4900? Do they at least kiss you before they stick it to ya? Lol
$42,000 is the minimum here too.

Try these folks http://www.accidentfund.com/#&panel1-1 their website has a find agent button just enter your zip. This is who we have on Worker Comp thru our agent.

Phil, I had them for WC and they dropped us for offering roof cleaning at renewel.

They never said anything about it to us. I just have to show them how much business in roof cleaning we have done each year. Who do you have now Chad?

Ralph, with all due respect I think it's a no brainer for you. You're basically losing jobs because you don't carry WC.
You're right, since you're doing roof and gutter cleaning along with the fact you're running a pressure washing business in sunny Fl. the rate will be high.
Have you priced it yet?

Ralph
there are ways to minimize your costs if its just you your getting it for. I mean are you really going to make a claim?..prob not..so if you want some help call me as im not going to post what i would do

Workers comp doesn't cover the owner. Even if you're under an llc, or an inc. You are not covered. If you have employees, they will be covered. I'll never understand that aspect. I understand companies requiring us to carry it. They also don't understand, wc does not cover proprietors. Lol oh well.
