No SH Roof Cleaner any suggestions?

I went out to bid on a roof cleaning job, very nice home 7 figure price tag owned by a college professor. Basic black algae. The owner has a lot expensive mature landscaping. He let me know that he had several guys come out and price the job but none were interested because he is requesting that no SH be used due to the landscaping and koi ponds. So my question is there an alternative that would work?

If you think you could do it without damaging the plants, educate him on your process.
If you have pics from similar jobs, these would help sell the job as well

+1 But if you are able to aducate him and he is assured you will not damge the plants/pond, here is a tip for covering the koi pond that I have used in the past. (these were small ponds that were able to be coved with a 10'x10' tarp). Get a large beach ball, inflate it, set it in the middle of the pond and cover pond/ball with a tarp. Stake off the corners so the tarp can be pulled tight. Any overspray will be directed away from the middle instead of collecting / pooling in the middle of the tarp.
 
Wondering how these peoples' minds work? They either want it done or not. Some college professors have an idealistic way of viewing things,..they want work like this done in some "Magical" way. I had a college professor from Penn State once ask me to kill the growth on the roof,.I was explaining the process, and mentioned I would be keeping everything wet,..and they REALLY didn't want me to get their house wet. I thought they were worried about chemical, and I said, " No, it will be water that gets on the surroundings" And they said they didn't want the house to get wet. I paused, and said what about rain? I didn't wait for a response, and said I can't promise that,..and that was that.

That being said, there really aren't any choices of chemically removing if their concern is plants and fish being poisoned, nothing is going to suit them. Sodium Percarbonate and pressure would be about the only way,...but that's really not a desired method.

I'd give my typical spiel and then move on.

Raj,

Use CH instead of SH it's safe for the plants just make sure you rinse very well especially windows and metal.

CH will kill plants and the fish for that matter. Both SH and CH form hypochlorous acid and both will wreak havoc on anything living in a concentration used strong enough to clean a roof. And if the roof is very dirty at all it won't come clean without rinsing heavily. AND if he's never used CH before, it could be a total disaster for him.
