Does anyone have any recommendations for any premade/mixed sodium percabonate cleaners that would work on Cedar. Have gotten quite a few calls on this lately and would rather first use something thats tested and proven then going Mad scientist.

A very good solution and boost to per carbs is make 4 gallons of precarb mix and add 1/2 gallon to a gallon of sodium hydroxide. This works well if your cleaning and removing pigment from a sealer like TWP and have exposed degraded wood. You can add roof surfactorants for cling .

See Jim is a "Mad" scientist, he knows how to boost things up the pH scale! Good hint for those that have leftover or older sodium hypochlorite you can do the same thing. Instead of throwing it away add a little sodium hydroxide to raise the pH. Be careful handling raw chems though!

Jim,

we use per carb cleaners for cleaning wood, two times we have tried mixing it with roof snot and its a non stop over flow of chemicals. We mix the per carb in warm/ hot water to get it dissolved then add the roof snot. Not had any luck on our end, has anyone else had this problem? What surfactant do you use?

Sorry didn't see this.
Precarbs are a pain in the arsenal . You can try to buy liquid hydrogen peroxide instead . not as foamy ( roof cleaning treatment) or wait longer and let mix settle down more before adding . I use any soap to get cling dawn, tide , terigital 9, haven't used snot.

How much Snot in how much solution? What is the final dilution on the surface? A little Snot goes a long way, especially on wood.
