At toastmasters tonight learning to be a much better speaker than her husband.

This is hard work. From 6am till 2am today.

I think she can win this.

Had to take a day away from the fight on the ground to interview with her opponent with the Veterans in politics.

It will be on YouTube later. She did a good job. Hope she gets the endorsement.

Well, Shelly didn't get the Veterans in Politics Endorsement.

The only thing she disagreed with them on was raising taxes to find more local funding for vets. She told them the disparity between military pay/benefits and local public employees was so vast they should look at reducing local pay and benefits for funds. I guess they didn't like that. They didn't endorse anybody in her race.

Meanwhile all three Democrats running against her must believe the constitution is just an old piece of paper written with funny spelling about things that don't mean much.

Well, after months of filings Shelly had her opponent disqualified for lying about his residency in the District.

Numerous people told her he was carpetbagging from outside the district.

Once she started getting evidence she filed a case.

Seeing that an attorney for a similar case cost between $20k and $50k Shelly thought she might have what it takes to represent herself.

And it worked. Today she won her first and only case.

She had so much evidence his only chance was to show up late, and whine that he didn't get a chance to be heard and attempt to get a later court date.

That strategy didn't work and she won.

I love listening to this guy make comments on the news stories about it and tie himself up in knots with more lies.

Tony I just reread this post.... so this isn't a local city/county gov race but for state representative. Tell your wife congratulations. I truly believe if she communicates back to the people of what's going on through out her term she will be very successful. It's funny how people in office only go public during election time.

That is her plan Lou. She has a great mentor in Michele Fiore who hosts District pasta parties every month at her home and is winning a Democrat district by a landslide in spite of her extremely conservative views and votes.
