I just got an email that the local business news magazine (http://www.cascadebusnews.com)is going to be doing a small article on my business for their "green businesses" issue. I would really like to mention the UAMCC in the article and was hoping to get some quotes/info from a executive member of the UAMCC on environmental issues of the industry. Maybe touching on how the industry is moving as a whole, recent changes, etc. I have the local stuff covered with the city waste water coordinator. I have a list of questions from the writer and we will be doing a phone interview/conversation tomorrow. Please feel free to contact me whatever way is easiest for you. Thanks in advance.

Re-post from UAMCC forum, thought I might find a few of you quicker over here. Thanks

Kids?*** What was your last business/job?How long have you owned Calvin Andrus Construction LLC?How many employees?*What are some of the ways you stay epa compliant?Walk me through your green equipment...as opposed to other’s non-green?Walk me through your green techniques...as opposed to non-green?What are some of the ways you are able to protect properties and businesses? What size jobs do you handle? Why is green cleaning important? What are some ways a business can get a fine or a ticket? What’s the hardest job you’ve tackled? Also, if you have any high quality pictures for us, that would be great.

I jave a lot of these covered but wanted to give some history of the industries enviro concerns. Maybe get a quote from UAMCC official about enviro in the industry, etc.

Do you Understand about BMP's? If not you need a Crash Course.

Talking about how you use the State , city or county's bMPs is great. Plus you can Add you take extra Steps to go above and Beyond always Maintaining the environment for Generation to come. I would not Get long with this, if they quiz you on specific examples Talk about not discharging water of Property as your first line of defense practicing the Simple collecting debris an pollutants existing prior to washing.

theres more but I would not go into much depth at the Learning curve your at.

Ron,
I feel very confident with all the questions, I carry multiple copies of BMP's with me at all time (City of Bend, OR Illicit Discharge Minimization BMP & Jerry's Handbook on Wash-Water Control BMP). I plan on touching base of my discussions with DEQ and the City Stormwater/Wastewater program manager. I would love to mention the UAMCC and the importance of being part of trade organizations to have access the much needed information to stay informed and out of trouble with the regulatory organizations. Hoping one of you (UAMCC Exec member) would be willing to give a quotable sentence or two about the importance of EPA compliance to our industry as a whole or importance of "green cleaning" as a whole. That make sense? Sorry, they have caught me off guard with this, short deadline, I'm busy out cleaning, and I have so many ideas of what I want the article to include and say.!!!
