Air Dome

Has anyone ever cleaned one of these? I'm wondering if the Sh will have any long term effects on the stitching. This is a structure manufactured by Horizon. They told me not to use SH. They want me to buy their product that is designed to clean these types of facilities. This particular structure is stored away part of the year and this year it looks really badafter they put it up. Thanks for any input.

Personally, I would just buy their product, use it and put the additional cost in the bid. This way nobody can come back on you saying the chemical you used messed it up or anything like that.

Good point Vince. I just hate to brush the entire structure and spend 4x amount of time to do the job. And with their product it may have to be reapplied to get it clean. I think its just Horizon's way of making more money by pushing an inferior product and cleaning procedure.

Demo spot with a good awning cleaner

what he said. you would be running a huge risk doing anything else.

I agree with Vince and Doug. If the stitching on this dome is anything like the stitching on RV awnings or anything of the sort, the SH will most likely cause some deterioration.

Time is money. Charge them 4x the normal rate.

After talking with an engineer of the air dome, which by the way is manufactured by Arizon not Horizon (sorry for misinformation) the problem with using bleach is there is no problem. The Rep I talked to before was worried about bleach deteriorating the stitching and I can understand that being possible. All the stitching is on the inside of the structure. On the out side the stitching is covered by a lap over seam that is glued making the structure water proof. The Arizon engineer said that my house wash mix would be ok to use. So I asked if he would call the owner and explain this to them and he did. Yesterday the owner called me to come down to demo our procedure for cleaning the dome. I sprayed my mix on just like washing a house and they were happy with the results. I start tomorrow morning cleaning the dome (providing the wind is not blowing to hard like today) which is 142' wide, 275' long and 34' tall. I will be using a 65' manlift to reach the top.
