Rinsing, there must be a better way.

The higher the GPM your machine is the easier it is to rinse. On large areas we usually start at an area closest to the exit point for the water, or where we are pushing the water too, and then work away from there in sections. This way we are limiting the large amounts of dirt, trash etc to push. We don't do a whole a lot of large concrete areas so I will be interested to see some of the answers here as well. Good Question.

More gpm's is definitely the solution. I have the same problem on most concrete cleaning jobs. It takes just as long to rinse, cut in edges etc... especially when it is very nasty and sandy.

A couple weeks ago I was rinsing a parking lot and had to move the rinse water a long way but it was kind of down a gulley. I kept having to chase the water and debris from side to side so I thought about making a wand attachment like a t-bar that has a fan nozzle in the middle and one about 2 feet to the left pointing forward and slightly in and the same thing about 2 feet to the right pointing forward and slightly in. My thinking is that would keep everything moving forward and not spread out too far to the sides. Of course my volume would be cut in thirds out of each nozzle.

Definitely higher GPM will help make rinsing move faster. But also wider tips really help. Don't rinse with a 15 degree use a 40. Also, typically, rinsing takes a while because you are battling with your hoses. Make sure when you are rinsing you always keep your hose behind you and if possible pull your vehicle or trailer up to an area that can reach both ends of the property without having to move the vehicle.

Also, if you have the properties on a regular basis then it should not take as long to rinse because it should have less and less dirt every time you clean it.

Hope some of that might have helped.

Use a billy goat blower to help move the water.

Has anyone ever tried the big squeegees on a pole for pushing water around a big parking lot? I use a leaf blower to help spread it out, but I too need to figure out a better way to rinse, since my machines only put out 4000/4.5gpm. I still can't wrap my mind around tying 2 machines together.

Water brooms push and rinse at the same time. I use one to rinse driveways fast!
