"local" competition

Had some estimates to go put in yesterday evening.
Went to one of our country clubs, and 3 houses down, I saw Mr part time aka Mr evening/weekend warrior aka Mr $99 house wash himself, on top of a ladder, which was leaned up against the stucco home, and he was blasting the HELL out of this stucco, while wearing some huge goofy looking headphones. Had his machine all up in the customer's grass, and his truck was parked across the street, in the other neighbor's grass.

Needless to say, I landed my job at $550.

sorry, guys, guess I should have worded it better!
Nothing meant by it!
This guy's been doing it for years and has signs around town advertising $99 house washes

Hahah I like that quote wade. My younger cousin would say it all the time when his parents would get mad at him " don't worry dad it's all good in the hood!!" Thus resulting in a spanking all the time hahahhaha good times

I was a locomotive engineer for a big railroad company for 8 years. We had a head on train collusion. I ended being disabled and decided the railroad was not for me anymore being that I just started a family. There are not a lot of companies outhere that would hire anybody with liabilities that I have. That's why I started my own company and also I hated working for the man in the first place and now Iam the man haha

Did you have a discussion with the switch operator? That is stupid stuff.

By the way, I started part time, and stayed that way for about 8 years. I finally got my business built enough that I could go full time. My jumping off point was when I was making twice as much on my part time job as I was on my full time job. I was also doing it year round.

I am glad I did. Right now, I have 38 employees, and 29 work trucks.

At the time of the incident I didn't because I was hurt. What happened was maintance of way were working on the main line they forgot to line switches back to normal. They let the dispatcher know that they were done and that everything was restored to normal which in reality the switches wernt. The funny thing about this is the same guy who let the switch unlined had just come back from being fired for the samething... I hit the other train at 49 mph with 15000 trailing tons. My son had just turned 3 monthes and I told myself That's it no more railroad life for me! I ended up with a tri- level neck fusion and a shattered hand. My conductor ended with a dislocated shoulder and a quad level neck fusion. The dislocated shoulder was caused by me pulling him out of deathes way. A railroad tie went through his window.

Scott, you don't officially "Make It" until you get to 29 employees and 30 trucks. Don't worry, we will get you there....someday.

I mistyped. I corrected it though. 38 employees is the correct number. Of course, I hired three more today, so I think that puts me over 40 again, except one is quitting in a week.

However, I am trying really hard to have a legitimate business.

I bet he won't get rehired again. He needs a serious out back type discussion. I bet your conductor was grateful for a dislocated shoulder. He probably thinks of you every time it slips out of socket.

He was very grateful he's has a daughter graduating in May from highschool and will be enrolling at texas A&m next year. He told me that if it wasn't for the dislocated shoulder he would not be getting to see her graduate so he appreciates it. We actually joke about it all time but here Iam starting a new life and business is picking up and all thanks to the grace of god!

Lots of guys started part-time.
I'm still a "part-timer" myself, but I work like a full timer in that if I'm not working, I'm lining up more work.
These past 3 weeks I've been working 6-7 days a week.
Hoping it stays like this.
