Sample Contract!

Clearcut

New member
Hey guys,

I've learned a lot from this board so I thought it was time to start contributing back. Here is my general contract I use for some of my customers. Hope it helps!

Hey Luke! Haven't seen you on here... Another Arizona power washer on the board... Welcome man. Maybe we can work together on a project sometime. This is a great place to learn. Never seen a net 20, but 10 days early is always good.

Hey Ty!

I get on the board during my down time and learn something new every time I login. I love meeting new guys in AZ who are in the industry, I actually follow you guys on FB and enjoy seeing all the cool work you guys do. I run the net 20 just cause I know most customers are on their own payment schedule anyway. You tell them net 20 and they end being 30 or 60 anyway lol, so if they actually follow the contract, sometimes I get lucky and get any early paycheck... Anytime you need an extra hand, don't hesitate to call!

You need to post more often so that we can all learn together. It is surprising how much local contractors can work together.

The form looks great Luke. I personally use the word "agreement" versus "contract" though. It seems like the word "contract" puts some people on edge or shaky ground like they are locked into something.

Does anyone know if using the words "service agreement" vs "contract" holds the same level of responsibility or binding?

That is a great point

Its a kinder, softer way of saying the same thing

I do the same thing- i NEVER use the word contract when interacting with a client either verbally or written

Ok.. BC I agree with Vince, and originally my contracts were titled "service agreement".. And had a family member who is also a contractor and GC and has done very well for him self, looked at it and said it should say contract (his thoughts were that it is more binding, if that makes sense?)

But I think I'm going to change it back. Thanks guys

This is fairly good stuff!

I would also like to think of it as agreement as opposed to contract... and I think that instead of a 1 year agreement, I would leave it as indefinitely. If they need to cancel or change the frequency of cleaning, make it time consuming and tedious (within reason) for them to do it, and they'll be less likely to make any changes. Unless corporate structure changes drastically, Or you're just doing a s**t job, then they may take any course of action to change their maintenance plan.

To prevent them from cancelling, just continually follow up with whoever brought you on and find ways to make sure they're happy with your service by any means necessary.

Just my two cents!

Hey cool, thanks for the sample "agreement" :)
