UAMCC BMP's Listed here

Tony Shelton

BS Detector, Esquire
There have been claims that we have been "shopping" UAMCC BMPs and that some phantom contractor has asked me to stop shopping them.

For the record I would like to list the UAMCC Bmps here:

----------------
Begin:

End.
---------------

There you have them.

I know they may be complicated to some, especially those with wild imaginations, medication issues, or those with a need to feel like their posts on the matter are relevant.

But I hope this clears things up.

I think you need to go into further detail for those Jim and John types out there that always like to make up stuff, this is too complicated for them.

All kidding aside, if the UAMCC did develop some BMP's, it would be something to offer as an alternative when you are trying to fight off proposed BMP's that are more restrictive.

It's a lot easer to fight city hall with documents drafted by your industry association.

The way I see it, and I'm just talking here....is to continue the current course of working "With" AHJ's and their existing BMP's. The only reason AHJ's are looking into changing their current BMP's are possibly the EPA Phase II mandates that most municipalities are behind on. The EPA and most AHJ's think we're a bunch of water squirting Yea-Hoo's and some think we're a major source of pollution.....There's so much misinformation out there about what we do and who we are......it's a good time to get in front of this.

I don't think Equipment Manufacturers and for the most part (not all) Distributors don't quite grasp the seriousness of this......If Contractors are burdened with excessive restrictions or mandated to buy specialized equipment this drives the cost of operation up, some will make it, some won't. If some don't.....they won't be buying anymore equipment.....they won't be buying anymore parts, soap, service or what have you. The ones that do make it will not be able to buy as much equipment or more frequently, or parts, soap, service, or what have you.....Nor will they be able to grow their businesses to the fullest potential.

If PW Contractors are labeled major sources of pollution.........Are Equipment Manufacturers and Distributors providers of pollution generating, cosmetic cleaning equipment????? So you are really the "Bad Guys" here???

Of Course Not!!!!!!!

Contractors, Manufacturers, & Distributors should be working together & fighting for.......Sensible, Sane, and easy to comply with Environmental Regulations.

An Industry Divided Will Not Stand.......

Just Saying...................

A better alternative would be leaving acceptable BMPs alone and not bring our industry into a target zone unnecessarily.

That is a good idea and I totally agree.......but......as long as you have those crazy people out there shopping bmp's around the country, stabbing contractors in the back, ripping off the members of the pwna, lying to regulators and city officials and the other nonsense they are doing I don't see any other option than to be proactive around the country because the alternative is not working and letting these crazy people harass and influence the important people is creating a huge problem wherever they go.

I wish we could just sit back and let things be but with the crazy people out there messing up things for contractors around the country what else can we do?

We cannot just stand by when the crazy people out there are lying and giving out mis-information to shop bmp's to make life more strict with more regulations making life harder for contractors when all this nonsense is not needed, wanted and should be illegal.

Guy, Phase II is ten years old. It was implemented in 2003. Most have already been through a five year audit at least once since then. I know Las Vegas has.

Robert keeps presenting it as if it is something brand new. It is not.

Well, not all government agencies have BMP's for washing and many that do are under pressure to change them.

It would be in your own best interest to be able to offer an alternative from your industry trade association that you could live with.

I’m on the outside looking in here being here in New Zealand and maybe it will be the opinion of some that I should just butt out.
I can’t get over the crap that this Robert H character seems to be selling to the uninitiated, gullible and knowledge less minnows in your local body governmental departments. It also interests me that he is a member here on this forum and as yet I haven’t read anything from him in defence of his BMP’s.
The question as arisen as to whether you guys should write your own BMP’s to put up as an alternative to the Crap Mr. R H is pushing.
From what I can gather what he is touting is self-serving and only designed to pull the wool over the eyes of local bodies in the hope that they will force your hands into buying heaps of necessary (in Mr.R H’s opinion) equipment that with proper BMP’s won’t ever be needed or used.
You guys need to stand tall and be counted as a collective of experts in the field. I read posts from guys on here that have been in this business since Noah landed the ark (did anyone bid to wash that at all? Sooo much poo to move!!) and you know your sh!t. Create a consensus put it on paper, make it your bible to work to, your standards and go and sell it to the city fathers and the minnows. Show them that Mr.R H is one voice, by all of you Masters of the craft having the gonads to put your names at the bottom of the PMP’s.
Sign it, own it, stand by it and work to it.
You have to show you have no other axe to grind (unlike Mr.R H) that you only want acceptable standard for the industry to work to.
You guys should be setting the industry standards as a collective, taking it to the consumers and selling it to them not have them tell you what to do based on lies and Bu!!sh!T.
I read through Mr.R H’s crap to the point I fell to sleep with boredom. I couldn’t believe he had the gall to put such crap to print let alone them go out and sell it as fact.
Time the tall poppies in the industry stood up to be counted BEFORE you are beaten at the post by the BS brigade.

Great post! I am glad you see the B.S. for what it is and the liar that Robert H. is and the B.S. that he is trying to sell to those regulators out there.

Maybe instead of a bunch of bmp's to everyone out there, maybe a warning letter of who this character is and what he is trying to do with a huge example of the OC incident to show them proof of his lying abilities and how he will go to all lengths to get his way to put another feather in his fairy hat so his mindless drones will keep on calling him great names and worship him like how he wants to be worshipped.

A warning letter, even better, a warning letter signed by hundreds and hundreds of contractors from around the country in opposition showing how he does not represent the industry but just representing himself and a few others might be a better plan of action. Either way, something needs to be done to warn the regulators of his future attacks on them, his lies about to happen, his B.S. machine at work, etc..... some kind of warning so that they are prepared for his nonsense for when it happens.

What do you guys think?

Maybe signatures from other contractors in your work areas showing how he does not represent but a handful of contractors where the majority do not even know who he is and what he is trying to do to destroy their livelihoods?

i think your on to something Chris.

This might be something to have on file to show any AHJ that he doesnt represent the industry.

I think it would be very powerful and convincing and not appear punitive in any way. I like it

Regulators are not going to want to read about a feud.

When a UAMCC member discovers that they are facing new restrictive BMP's, it would be helpful if the agency pursuing that received a letter from the UAMCC explaining their concerns about environmental over reach affecting their local members businesses. Along with that letter, UAMCC's own BMP's could be included along with a list of other government agencies that have adopted them.

That would be far more effective than a single cleaning contractor fighting alone.
