Going to be doing my first job cleaning a few decks.

I am going to get my feet wet so to speak with deck cleaning. I have a customer who hired me to stain a new fence he put up and he asked if I could clean the decks and walk ways that he has on the property. I ordered some wood restorer and some brightner. I am a little nervous about it but confident that I can get it done. Shipment won't be in until midweek. I will get some before and after pics. Then I have to stain it as well.

I guess I do have a worry though. One of the decks is right on the lake. What would you recommend for that. It is a 10x20 dock with an aluminum walk attached to it right over the water.

Boom train of oil socks tied together around the perimeter of the deck to coral runoff.
Tarps stapled underneath to guide as much runoff as possible back onto the property for dilution.

If you are not stripping and just cleaning, you may not have to be so extreme, if using a "green" type of cleaner appropriate for the local authorities.
