Bowe Bergdahl ... zero not hero.

As man have probably seen in the news the past few days. The Obama administration traded 5 known senior Taliban leadership for the release of "our only know living POW from Afghanistan, Bowe Bergdahl".

The problems with this situation are so numerous that I have been sick to my stomach since hearing about it. Maybe it hits me in the heart more because I was also in the Army and spent time deployed with my brothers in Arms.

First off The U.S. has long since made known that they do not negotiate with terrorists. We have lost men who were captured and lost men in rescue missions supporting this idealism.
Negotiating with terrorist organizations sets a bad precedence and gives them more legitimacy and perceived power. Also 1 person for 5 person trade seems kind of silly in a logical sense. We traded 5 "known senior officers/officials of the Taliban who have directly been linked to deaths of americans" for 1 PFC who's morality, loyalty, and commitments are questionable at best.

Do we really want to tell all the terrorist organizations of the world that 1 American is worth 5 of their own people? Wouldn't that just make it more enticing to capture an American?

Now onto the even bigger issue. An actual investigation, AS WELL as first hand accounts show Bowe Bergdahl showing anti-american sentiment both in email, and verbal communication with his family and peers. Members of his unit were forced to sign a non discolsure agreement so the truth never came out about what happened, but multiple have come forth stating Bowe intentionally left his post with no weapon after already shipping his personal belongings home. This shows he had no loyalty to his unit or his country and did not intent to live up to his word and oath.

No less then 6 Americans died searching for Bowe Bergdahl to save his life and never leave a man behind. If only these people knew when they were sent out to save him that he would not do the same for them. That he was intentionally seeking out the Taliban. That his intention was to help them. We won't even go into the fact that his father converted to Islam during his capture.

Bowe Bergdahl's actions contributed to a minimum of 6 deaths , he deserted his post, deserted his oath, and who knows how many more americans will die as the senior taliban leadership that was released for him reintigrates into the Taliban and begins new implementation of operations against Americans.

I would give my life for my country any man I served with, don't be fooled by the fraud that wouldn't do the same.

One minor correction, he was a Sgt. other than that, he was a bottom sucking piece of primordial pond scum.

Everything I am gathering is during the incident he was a Pfc., and was promoted to Sgt. while "on vacation with the Taliban". I could be wrong though.

Thank you Scott glad to see someone agrees.

Most normal people agree with you Jeff, there are some though....

The NY Post has a pic on their front page showing them hugging and calling them the "Taliban Dream team"

The U.S. DID NOT Negotiate with Terroroists!!!!

WE GAVE THE TERRORISTS WHAT THEY WANTED!!! ( No Negitations )

For someone that hasn't watched TV for the past 10 years (and still doesn't), this sounds about par for the worlds largest terrorist organization a/k/a the US Federal Government.

I seen where there was a General ( can't remember his name) but he has called for the impeachment of obama. I sure hope Congress heard him and file charges against his whole administration. He's not my leader and sure isn't the right leader for this country
