Screen Enclosures & Chemical - Cover plants or just wet them down?

I do quite a bit of this, and have always just wet plants down.. but now that i got a foamer, im wondering if i need to start being more cautious and protect customers plants better.

I thought about foaming plants with a dawn mix prior to starting on screen enclosure or laying any chemical... but what about just covering the plants with plastic..

what do you guys use, or do in your practices.. thanks for your advice!

We don't have the enclosures where the whole back yard is screened in like you do in Florida, but I would think the foamer would make protecting plants easier not harder for two reasons...1. more of your detergent is sticking to the screen not going thru it, and 2. you can easily see if foam does stick to the plants and quickly rinse it off. I'd prewet, and immediately rinse after. Also, I don't see any reason to intentionally foam a dawn (dish soap?) mix onto plants. Wouldn't that do more harm than good? They make plant feed that you might wet them with but why soap?

Soap as a surfactant to keep the plants wet and any chem that does fall on them, would be more likely to run off rather then be absorbed.

I just rinse down plants and grass before I start, and the final rinse down takes care of any residual.

Not so sure foaming a screen enclosure is a good idea, if that's what you intend to do. I have a rough enough time rinsing suds and soap mix with just a little bit of surfactant in it, off of the screens. Stick around until the screens dry sometime, and you might be shocked at how much soap mix is still evident. (white dots and streaks) sometimes if it is shady you won't even see it, but in the sun it is definitely noticeable.

Interesting.. Thanks for the advise guys. What makes you choose these tips? I keep hearing about all these different sizes being talked about.. What made you pick that one?

Its a J-rod nozzle holder. I got mine from Bob @ pressuretek pretty much everyone else sells them.. Russ, Bob, Paul.. They are about $18 bucks.. order 2.. in case one walks away or gets left on a fender when you leave a job. I have an 8gpm and a 4gpm on my rig. Each of the 2 j-rods for each machine have an 0540 nozzle in them... I have some 00 nozzles on plugs and shooter tips on plugs when needed. The width of the 0540 is great for 2nd story eaves ( depending on lance length and wind ) I love to soap and rinse with it!!!
