Great Prices On Largo Hotboxes

I just looked and the new burners require 25 amps. That's not good considering mine is a pressure pro 20 amp. Who is making 25 amp cold units?

How many watts does it take run a 115v hot box?

7 Gallons isn't a very big fuel tank though on a 8-12 GPM Hot Box, they should put a fuel tank that is at least double or even triple that amount.

I absolutely agree with that. The 8-12 GPM Largo hotbox burns 3 gallons of diesel per hour. A 7 gallon tank is not gonna last but a couple of hours. So you'll be filling that tank 4 times on a full day of work. I'll be getting a much larger diesel tank for mine. I've got an 18 gallon gas tank on my 8 gpm pressure washer because it came with a wimpy 6 gallon tank. The big tanks are the only way to go.

Talk to Paul about a larger fuel tank. You will be glad that you did.

I wonder if you had 2 large batteries and pulled off of them at the same time, if that would help for a while or not?

I bet the flow switch will only allow 8 gpm, plate on the side will also say 8 gpm unless they have just changed it. Coil is 1/2 which means higher pressure, but more pressure loss over the 250 ft (approx 200- 220 psi if I remember the chart approx). Only other thing I partially given up on is there thermostat, standard one gives up once a year, got tired of dealing with this issue.

Specs that should be asked or displayed I think on every hotbox ad should be

Coil size + length, heat rise, which temp limit thermostat+high limit switch is used (There are about 3 versions of thermostat's, 2 high limits that all look the same), burner brand (wayne/beckett) and which model is being used, and last but not least an option to get the exhaust conversion extension on the horizontal burner to connect to a standard chimney pipe.

Specs plus options for these if you are interested.

The prices are good, and I even have one myself, just don't agree with all the marketing material out there. The frame, coil, burner assembly, fuel tank is still running 3.5 years later. Just about everything else has been replaced for more volume or reliability (broke too many times).

I got a new burner/hotbox about a month ago for a new truck, went farley instead. Bigger unit, larger diameter coil, 1 inch flow switch capable of more then 8 gpm, and did my own thermostat to avoid the wide band standard one that fails yearly, and a 40g stainless fuel tank.

That sounds like a great hotbox Benjamin, any pics of it?

I've heard nothing but great things about Farley's products over the years. I know they are a little more expensive that others, but they are well worth the $$$. I do have to say though it's 1 of the biggest hot boxes I've seen in quite awhile.

That is a big burner, thanks for the pic.

The truck driver left it there, had the pallet jack to move it around. Took the engine hoist and threw it in the truck right away to get it out of the way. Need to bolt it down still before I move the truck, but I am excited to get it going. This burner was ordered or built for somebody else that didn't come pick it up, so I got a great deal on it. What the largo was going for before the price drop + shipping + duty + currency exchange, difference was about $400 I figured. Mike @ Auqafleet is the one that got me this, price had everything included so it was dropped off without another bill.

I think you actually scored on that deal Benjamin. I would've paid the extra $400 in a heartbeat also.

I already have one of these 18 gallon tanks hooked up to my 8 GPM pressure washer and just ordered another one for my Largo hotbox. It's a great tank and a good price. Perfect dimensions as well.

It's the exact same one I've been using for years now. I just don't have the sending unit on mine is all. I'm going to take the factory 8 gallon gas tank on mine though and turn it into another diesel tank on top of the 18 gallon diesel tank that came with it.. This way I'll have 26 gallons of diesel. I think the 27HP Kohler I have actually uses less or exactly the same amount that the 18HP Kohler I used to run.
