F9 BARC Rust Remover: One Application vs Two

F9: Will it work with one application?

A few guys have been asking me if you can use F9 BARC with one application.

Here is my answer: You can use F9 or any product for that matter without precleaning. My goal first and foremost has been to keep companies applying the product out of trouble while getting the best results possible. The reason you preclean first is to remove any residues from other products, give the concrete a more uniform and neutral PH and clean off topical dust, dirt and debris so F9 can penetrate.

It is almost always better to do 2 coats than one big dose but of course you can do this too. It takes longer going the double application route with preclean but it is like an insurance policy in case there are things in the concrete that the product could react with. I want to teach the right way first, then let you guys decide which way you want to do it. Using two applications also gives you more control in the final product, it's color and it's appearance.

If you want to do just one application on grey concrete you need to mix 1 gallon of F9 with 1/3 to 1/2 gallon of water. Sometimes you can dilute more but you'll need to use more product. I would atleast blow off the concrete first and then apply F9 liberally. Brush with a broom, let dry then mist with water, broom while wet and lightly rinse off.
