hey guys, need your advice.

Im about to purchase a new 6x12 open trailer for a new trailer build. I have been back and forth now for a while on wether or not i need to go Tandem/dual axle, or if i can get away with single axle. i plan on having a 200-250 gallon tank plus equipment, plus 1 or 2, 50 ga chem tanks.

have any of you gone one route and wished you would have gone with dual axle instead because you needed it for the weight? or other way, being that you bought a dual axle and realized you didnt really need it.

thanks for the help!

I figured as much, just needed to hear from someone else I guess. Thanks guys.

Tandem......have a flat you can removed affected tire and keep going

Yep...been there. Ran for a couple days with three tires and kept my buffer tank empty to keep light.

I personally am going with a 7 X 16 with 5200 lbs axles with brakes on both axles. I think I finally found a dealer close by that has 1 in stock.

This is 6'.5" X 12' drop tail for a lower rear gate for a visual.

I'm getting ready to go to dual 100 gallon tanks and I will be able to see out the rear view mirror again.

Thanks guys. Found a steal on a 6x14 tandem with brakes. Picking it up later this week. Very excited to have found a solid platform with space and weight capacity for the growth to come in the future.

Thanks again for the tips

Tandem. I made a mistake buying a single axle the first time around.

Same here. I just couldn't afford a new trailer at the time, now a tandem with brakes is at the top of my list!

Its just anything else in this business when starting off. If you have to ask .. go bigger or better.. cause 12 months from now.. your gonna wish you did!

I second that.

However, if your budget says single axle, then go single axle. You know what's best for your situation.

I finally found a heavy duty trailer for a decent price that fits my needs, just a little longer than I wanted to go at 18 feet instead of 16. I'll head out to Tucson, AZ late Tuesday morning to pick it up.

Is that used or new? Must be a good deal to make that drive. Vince give me a call when you're in town if you have a few, maybe grab a bite and talk shop.
