Unloader Confusion!?

Why does it seem like every brand of unloader is actually PA? Go to giants company website and half their unloaders are PA. Cat Pump flow unloader - PA pulsar zero. Are general and PA the same company?

I want this unloader but giant doesn't show it on their own website.

What It does show is a general pump (pa) pulsar with 1/2" ports?

I have the giant orange unloader. Best trap unloader I've tried and I prefer it over the general blue/green springs. The stacked plates really unload nicely. I wanted the blue giant because it's rated for 21 gpm and I was hoping the internals are larger diameter for better flow. But if they're the same size then it wouldn't matter.

Russ, I know everyone loves the green spring until recently when the manufacturer made them less durable, for the commercial use, lots of unloading, using 2 guns or not, would you recommend the green spring unloader still or which one? Thanks.

Here's the link to the spec sheet on the 22913.

Yours for $118.04.

I would also like to know this.

Thanks,
Jeff

See the unloader I posted above.

Hey Tom, or anyone else,..what are the "stacked plates" you're referring to,...I see they are in the place where a regular spring would be,.but how do they work?

Thanks,
Jeff

They're convex washers. It gives a more "progressive" control to the valve. The main pressure is at the center and the very outside, and spreads over the flat surface as tension increases. They work well on 2 gun set-ups too. The orange spring is rated 13 gpm @ 3,500 psi.

Well apparently the blue spring giant is now a PA which is also a 'general' blue spring...

I bought the Giant 22913 unloader a year ago. My question is two fold?

(1) Within the last week the unloader has stuck twice on initial start up, then works fine. Is that a sign it's going bad? I've had many unloaders stick in the past but not in this manner. They would be troublesome the whole job,..then I'd replace it.

(2) Also,. it's triggering about 3 minutes if let to just run. I've went over the whole system looking for a leak that would cause the unloader to trigger from pressure drop,..but everything is bone dry externally. Can an unloader go bad internally and cause the triggering?

* I have a brand new one coming on Monday, but just wanted to get some clarification on these issues. Actually thought it would last longer than it has if it actually is bad.

Thank You,
Jeff

Are you using a ball valve Jeff? My unloader was doing the same thing, cycling after a couple of minutes. Turned out to be the ball valve.
