Hot Box Battery Suggestions

I'm starting to think that a regular car battery may be better than a deep cycle because they are always connected to the charging system. There are different models of deep cycle, I have the one from Walmart that is marked 'starting', it's only $60 here.

My Hotsy had a regular auto battery in it, it was an Interstate Megatron and it lasted 8.5 years no problems. It was still working when I traded it in, the positive post separated from the battery, just was wiggling in there and I did not want acid leaking out when hitting a bump or possible sparks happening, I got my money out of it.

It was not a deep cycle marine battery, just a regular auto battery but since it was an Interstate and I cleaned the terminals a couple times a year, it did last a long time.

I have heard from several people that the 6 volt deep cycle batteries from costco are the way to go. Just wire 2 of them in series.

Your gonna need the biggest two 12 volt marine batteries you can find since the red motor has a tiny charging system on it.

There's my boy Hal!! Yes... the Honda is less than stellar ( on charging and HP ) I picked up a pair of Group 24 deep cycles from Walmart today. And a pair of battery boxes. So we will see how far the parallel set-up goes.
