Man, some of those comments were incredibly racist.
In my opinion, the cops would have zero need to be dressed that way if the area businesses were not being looted, if in trying to control the situation they were not being attacked, having things thrown at them, and being shot at, and if everyone would choose to mourn instead of attacking other people. Sadly, it is outside agitators that are inciting the local community to do those things that should not happen in a civilized society.
On the other hand, I do believe the police forces are overly militarized, but it is because of the actions of the local community that the equipment is being rolled out.

Scott, we just live in an area where racism like that doesn't exist.
And by the way, the looting was over quickly. They didn't come dressed like that for looters. There were no looters at Bunkerville.

I am not talking about bunkerville. Totally different situation. Last I heard there was still significant looting and destruction going on in Ferguson.
