What chemical would you suggest?

Got a call today to clean up what you see in the attached pictures. The info that was provided with the pictures was that the 2 dark circle stains are diesel, and the lighter brown staining you see was what was caused when they tried to clean it up.

Looking for some advice on which chemical as well as proper application of the chemical. I was thinking EBC? If my thinking is correct and EBC is the way to go, how many gallons would you think this job would take?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I would put kitty litter down first to try and soak up what I could. Use a broom so you can get it down in the asphalt good though.

I would use EBC on it but I would call or PM Carlos himself for the exact dilution ratios, I don't want to misguide you on the ratios.

Jake.

You are into probably 1 gal of EBC but best to have extra on hand.

Alot of secondary staining from the initial clean up.

Here is what I would do.

Add 12-18 oz of EBC to 3 gal of water (pump up) and spray liberally on effective area in sections. Do not spray entire area all at once.

Take a light to med shop broom and gently agitate the area section that you sprayed. The goal here is to remove as much stain/grease/fuel without affecting or compromising the integrity of the asphalt.

After agitation soft wash or use low pressure at around 150 degrees and rinse the area you just broomed. After you did the first section you will be able to see how well the stain lifted. If you feel you need to bump up the strength then by all mean add another 6 oz's in the mix.

It is best to go light with your mix and work your way into the proper ratios vs. going strong initially and finding yourself having to explain to the client on how the asphalt was damaged.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. Gonna give that a shot and see how clean I can get it.

Thanks Carlos. Just ordered 2 gallons of EBC. Going to go with the exact ratios you mentioned as well as the cleaning methods. Thank you very much for your help. Its comforting to know I can speak with one of the people that know the most about the chemical and get tips directly from him.

Job is booked and scheduled to be completed in 10 days. I will post some before and afters when its been completed

No worries.....

You should have plenty EBC left over I would think for future washes such as houses or flatwork.

Take my cell # down 707.812.3702. When you get on the job and something does not look right...give me a holler. If I don't pick up...just leave me a vm and I will get right back at ya!

All the best and thanks for looking at EBC for this.
