Installed the float valve, moved the filter to the inlet side, ran my bypass along the ladder rack, machine mounted, re-plumbed my chem tank to pull from the bulkhead instead of a drop hose from the top..

Had a pick up tube sitting in chem that had a stainless filter. Sat for a week or too in the chem, and caused this.....

Had to drain all the existing chem, pull the tank, clean It out, vacuum the pieces of rust.... Reaaaal PITA...... Was also having issues losing prime by having such a long and high rise for the pump to pull.. Lessons learned..

Great job of the trailer setup, nice and professional.

Paul, hopefully this works with no hiccups. if not, itll be back to the drawing table to make it as stream line as possible..

thanks Chris

There are plastic strainers that last a very long time, I would use those.

With the hose in the tank, what is the gray pipe in there for?

If you are loosing prime, go down to a 1/2 inch, That is what work for me, much less of a suction. I added a extra hose to the inlet with a ball valve to suck into other tank for either water to flush out pump or chemical.

Scott, i also have a ball valve for water. if you look at the picture showing the pump (small battery box).. i have it plumbed with 1/2". i have a ball valve and 1/2 inch coming from chem tank.. to a T the one side of the T goes into the Pump, and the other part goes to the 1.5" water supply PVC with a ball valve. after spraying a roof or whatever, i close off the chem tank, and open up the clean water.. let it flush for a good 5-10 mins every time I'm done using it.

But i also notice I'm going through 125 gallons of chem on a 4,000 sq/ft tile roof with almost NOTHING left. I'm starting to think about getting a 50 or 75 gallon leg tank to haul extra straight SH incase i need to mix more on the job. or have multiple jobs on a route. i have a spare shurflo i could hook up as a transfer pump.

I move my pump from the floor to the top of the tank. Now the priming is no problem. Before I go on the roof I make sure the hose has no air and full of chem. No head pressure at pump. On transferring chemical I shut off the ball valve and turn on the other ball valve that I use for cleaning out pump.
I use about 80 -90 gallons on a 4000 roof. If I walk it, more if I spray it from the ladder.
