Business Ethics

Settle down go have a drink T.

All points valid an truthful , but can't worry about what we ourselves can't control.

Knowing we Are doing things right accountable for ourselves is all that matters.

Lead by example an those who have integrity will follow.

There's a point in a life your to old to worry about those woo have been thieves all there lives. These people where raised to think business is about taking advantage. That's a lie, business is fair. Anyone who thinks it's about getting over on others won't last.

Working with customers has to be a win win situation.

Houston is cut throat, as I'm sure other parts of the U.S. as well...

However, in the larger metropolitan cities... (Phoenix, Houston, L.A. Etc.) You're more likely to encounter people who run their operations like this all the time.

Ultimately, if you serve your customers right (and give quality work)... Whatever your competitors do is absolutely irrelevant.

Maybe I'm just a vindictive, young whippersnapper... But if someone were to slander my name... Then it's game on!

Well, it happened to my business a couple of years ago and continues even now after I left. I don't want to finger-point, but I am warning you all to watch employees and friends who really aren't either one.

I'm not disagreeing with you Ron, I'm just saying that there are competitors that are very.... AWARE of other companies..

And taking photos of rigs and operations, stealing domain names, and undercutting bids are all things that are frowned upon.

What I'm saying is... Things like that happen more often in large metro areas than smaller city's or counties.

Pete I know your upset , but maybe you surrounded yourself with these folks?

My data bases are secure. Someone downloads a file I'm notified. They down load more that a fraction it shuts down.

I don't allow or cross train anyone to know all the pieces to the puzzle. They work with others that plug in there parts.

Not trying to say I'm smarter than you because I'm not. I trained 5 competitors including a best Freind. I learned from my mistakes an didn't blame them for stealing or taking my stuff. I made my stuff tougher to steal. Fortunately this all happened in my first 10 years.

I won't stick up for the person who did this to you. However they have. Right to make a living, you trained them well, guess maybe to good.

You have always been the best at that, Pete put that shit behind you get back in the game an take it back. Or come to peace with yourself things could have went different an the only guy to blame is yourself. I respect you Pete as a Freind , but you either take action an change the future. Or accept the defeat an walk away.

I will always call you a Freind , I'm sorry for the way this turned out. Truly I think it sucks, but I can't fault anyone but you.

This is why I am so abrasive. I am too old to pussyfoot around with people who do things like this and I don't associate with them. One of their tactics is to try to convince people that you are doing the same thing. These types of people like to make false claims about me or Ron or Doug to cover what pieces of worthless garbage they are.

For example, there is one weasel in Phoenix who tried to follow Ron around for a while targeting him to take accounts. OK, if he does a better job than Ron, for a price that is more palatable for the customer, more power to him.

But that wasn't good enough. This weasel had to get on the boards and make false claims about the quality of Ron's work while he was doing the deed, going so far as describing the unique trailer that was doing the shoddy work to male sure everyone thought it was Ron's.

To make a long story short, Ron had a lot of accounts and it took him a few hours to figure out that the whole thing was made up and Ron doesn't even service that account.

At that point he was sick of all that crap and pondered a method that would have wiped this little knat out completely within month. Ron had the means to do it and it was a foolproof method that works every time it is employed.

But after the anger settled down Ron decided to let this little operation survive and just continue on off the good quality work he provides for his customers.

That weasel has no idea how close he was to bankruptcy if Ron hadn't taken the high road and had allowed his anger to make him do the wrong thing.

In the end Ron is now semi retired and lives like a king and the weasel is still scraping scraps.

Doing the right thing always works out in the end. Every man is susceptible to thoughts that are evil. It takes a real man to operate without going in that direction.

Pete at the end of the day I think your Happy, if you truly enjoyed what you had you wouldn't have allowed anyone to take it.

I'll tell you this of I wanted to get even just partner with another successful Dist an crank it up. Your resources knowledge an loyalty to those who bought from you will still Pete.

Balls in your court, really you got nothing to loose at this point an everything to gain.

I disagree with Tony, sort of. I have proved time and again that the best thing for my family is to have the highest ethical standards and expectations. It is amazing how customers react when they find out that you will always and consistently treat them exactly the way you tell them.
