Goodbye Old Trailer

After 6 very busy years, stripped down the old trailer today and moved all equipment over to a brand new 6x12 tandem axle trailer with brakes on both axles this time (instead of just rear axle). The original hot box frame was falling apart and I took off the new Kohler engine and pump that were mounted in a separate frame within this larger frame. This is now up on local auction and up to $150, which is what is will likely sell for on Monday. Brakes are shot, no tread on tires, brake lights need new wiring and several very soft spots on the wood floor and the rust is everywhere. This trailer went downhill fast with all the roof cleaning it has also done from it. Glad to have a new one that will have some custom welding done on it the next couple of weeks. To think of all the money that was made from pulling this trailer over 6 years!!

What a shocker!!!!!! You weren't seriously towing that thing around to your customer were you???? Did it ever have a lick of paint on it??

Yes, my guys pulled this around town up until a week ago when I saw it and pulled it out of service. I hadn't seen this trailer for 4 months. Apparently, the on-board transfer pump that was mounted on top of the hot water skid had a minor leak in it the guys never repaired -- notice part of the frame missing. This along with a lot of roof cleaning that was done in this time period pretty much finished it off. The new rig will be pressure washing only as I am now building a separate smaller trailer for just roofs. After 6 years, the hot box only had around 400 hours on it. With my demand of a hot box less than a 100 hours per year, I doubt I will buy another hot water set up...at least for now. Maybe an add-on hot box later.

Let us see pictures of the new trailer

My guess is you don't like to paint. I got 8 years out of mine. There a great place in Deland that will built you one. AMP trailer

No, I hate painting but will pay more attention to the new one so it doesn't get this way again. Will also have some custom welding done in the next few weeks. The old trailer just sold for $150 as the new guy will tow plants around town in it after putting new tires on it.

AMP Trailer DeLand FL

Dave Amp trailer will build you what ever you want, I have a customer trailer that I design with 5 hanging hose reels. What is great the trailer still fits in the garage and it has two 5200 lbs. axles with brakes all around and square tubing. It is a great rig.

That's just what work does to equipment

That and parking it near the ocean with all the salty air. Scott, will look into Amp Trailers in Deland for my next one. Thanks.
