Advice Needed Quickly ~ Having to Replace Truck

I had an 2005 F-250 Harley Davidson Truck (loved Her even though it was a 6.0 lol) Well IT WAS STOLEN ! That was what I was going to use to start out with mainly cause it was paid for and what I had. I Now Have to purchase another. The problem is I have to Purchase something ASAP as I have no transportation come this week. My Question is what route would you go? I haven't gotten to the point of deciding trailer or Flatbed and I haven't picked out my equipment so I have no idea of what my weight load would be (to include full tanks). Not sure if a F250 Diesel is sufficient to pull a loaded up trailer. I really don't like to rush a decision like this but it's where I'm at. What would Y'all suggest ? I could get an F450 Flatbed and buy myself an older 7.3 truck and use for my daily and extra work vehicle or just get a new 2015 F250 - Dealership is working with me long story but they screwed up so I will have about $13,000 min off the sticker. Any suggestions and advice is appreciated.

There are pros and cons to both. The F-450 flatbed you can load down pretty much with tools, 550 gallons of water, equipment and more and with mine I'm at 16,000 lbs. The truck is rated for 16,500 lbs. My next truck will be a 2015 F-450 come January. If the truck goes down for any reason though then you're out of work unless you have a trailer as well like I do.

Power washing trailers get stolen all the time, plus pulling a trailer you might not be able to fit into some jobsites the way you would like.

Personally I would go with the F-450 and get an older F-150 or F-250 for personal use.

I'm going to be selling my current F-450 come December but I won't sell it to anyone that is on these boards (everyone knows how unreliable my truck is)

Hope this helps.

Get a 7.3 Ford.....It will pull anything....

Doug,

I want the versatility of both commercial and Residential ~ Commercial my primary and Residential as my fill in's to start. I wanted to take my time buying a company vehicle but now I'm in this situation I want to be smart about it. I'll end up with 2 vehicles regardless one for myself and one for my crew but I want them both capable of being used for the business. I don't know the weight of a trailer decked out to know if buying an F250 would be sufficient ~ what is the typical weight of a trailer with fluids? If an F250 can handle pulling a trailer I will get that to start with and then buy a second vehicle like an F 450 for my commercial crew. If an F250 can't handle pulling a trailer then I'll get a F350 to start with. I just don't know weight capacity on a trailer being that I haven't put mine together yet. Make sense lol...

Juan ~ to start with yes it will be for at least 2 mths

Dang Vince I just saw that my reply didn't make it back to you via my phone earlier today. Yea, I think they make be what I do... I plan on being with my crew on my jobs especially my commercial ones but I don't have a husband to be my secretary or accountant so I will need another vehicle to do errands and ect at times so I don't want to hold a truck up making money lol.... At least until I hire full time assistant. Congrats on getting a new F 450 !!! I understand not selling yours to anyone on here...it's like selling to a family member something happens and well....you know ! lol...

Thanks Mike for the Info that helps.... That really helps. I'll be going probably with a 6 x12 dual axle and a larger water tank if I go the trailer route ~ not sure about the rest yet still checking into my equipment.

Need a ready to go trailer set up?.......Everything you want and more......

An f250 diesel will tow what you need. That is what I had for years, without a problem. The typical pressure washing setup weighs around 6,000 lbs +/-
Trailer 1200 lbs.
Pressure washer 800 lbs
Hoses 250 lbs
Water, 325 gallons 3000 lbs.
miscellaneous 1000 lbs.

That is about the standard. Well below the weight rating for an f250, or even an f150 with a tow package.

Agree w SCott....the F250 will handle just about anything you need to tow. We have ours with a skid in the bed as well as tow a trailer and it has no problem at all.
