Question for everyone, I was in the PO getting my control sheet signed for washing the LLVs and had a conversation with the Postmaster about how filthy his sidewalks were. He said, "send me a proposal and send me a seperate proposal for the front of the building" I could use some help pricing this out, I assume i'll get the contract if i don't rape them since i'm already there - anyone doing POs? If I can get them on a maintenance plan - how often?

Having the budget and getting someone to spend it are two different things. Some people think that they are being good by not spending money for the area it is budgeted for, not realize that in the long run it is more expensive, either to wear and tear, or because of lost customers because the place is filthy. Not just post masters, but that is the answer across the board.

I'm looking at roughly 4600 sq ft of sidewalks, am I too high @ $935 including rust removal - there's alot of rust?

It all depends on the gum. The post office will need a approval to spend outside the budget.

Find out what that is, offer to break the agreement into multiple invoices. Over 500 or 750 will require and approval from above post master at location.

Good luck , I don't think your to far off. Good price an good luck.

Gum isn't too bad - will they only be able to approve one invoice per vendor per month or can they pay out multiple invoices from one vendor? Should I just write this portion up as (month 1: surface cleaning) (month 2: rust removal) (month 3: reoccurring surface) (month 5: reoccurring surface)?

Thanks for the help everyone.

I tried two post offices here in the twin cities, one at the U of M, the other in a suburb of St.Paul, no dice on either. I figured thje post office is so broke, the last thing they are concerned about is graffiti or sidewalks.

I would stay on top of the follow up, but not expect too much. Your time could probably be best spent elsewhere drumming up better work.
