Marketing angle for rust removal--thoughts

Thinking about ways to get rust removal work. I'm thinking I should market the service extensively for Fall/Winter time.

1) Gets rid of past years irrigation stains and the won't show up again until next summer. (more time w/o the ugly)
2) Less concern with browning grass--still have plant concerns.
3) Could charge more attractive rates since I'll be able to do it faster (specialization).
4) Could then buy more QTY of product at cheaper rate.
5) Won't even do it in Spring/Summer unless I charge a lot. (adds too much time to the job)

Someone shoot holes in that theory so I'm not blind sided by something I'm not considering. Thanks.

Personally, I don’t feel the need to market rust removal. I would say roughly 1 out of 3 estimates that I do, they have rust. It’s the best upsell in the industry because people don’t know it can be removed or they don’t know how to remove it. Upselling roof and siding rust removal is the best money maker because it only takes a matter of minutes to remove it, and you’re already there. I charge atleast $75 regardless of how small the stain is. $75 for 10 minutes of work is a good hourly wage if you ask me. Sell more house washes and roof cleanings and you'll run into more rust. Just my opinion.

 
If you want to market it, streetbidder is a good way. They have post cards for it. Snap a pic of the rust hit send and they will get your post card with your rates.

We don't have irrigation rust, but we do have a lot of golf cart battery stains and calcium stains. What we do (aside from networking with golf cart dealers) is to find a neighborhood with issues and have a professional EDDM designed. Usually 6.5x12. Then we send it every 3 weeks or so over the course of a few months. We can typically turn a $1500 EDDM sent to 5,000 people into a 15,000 return.
