Surfactants And Additives for your mix.

I have just ordered a gallon jug of Ammonyx LO and Ammonyx MO both right around 30%. I intend to try these with my Sodium Hydroxide mix in various ratios instead of dumping in Dawn Ultra or Gain Ultra.

I see 2-butoxyethanol added to allot of "Heavy Duty Cleaners" I am searching for a supplier of the chemical but no luck so far.

My primary objective is of course increased dwell time and cling to vertical surfaces as well as general enhancement of standard sodium hydroxide mix.

I know their are many favorite brands here already from various vendors with products that will achieve this same goal but this gives me something to do in my spare time so why not.

Hopefully fedex delivers fast..

thoughts and concerns?

My general mix is: 1 Dry Food Measuring Cup of 99.99% pure Sodium Hydroxide Micro Pearls per gallon of cool tap water. Highest concentration I have mixed for a job I did not want to "scrape" or steel wool first was mixed at 5 Cups per gallon and wow did it really wreak havok on any fats or oils it touched. I have read alot of times through the forums here state the would mix until no more dissolve into the solution... perhaps it was an modest exaggeration or the truth... is that a common practice for KEC cleaners to always mix until lava and apply for every cleaning? I did shave off 3 hours from a job we just did by just adding 3 extra cups of sodium hydroxide to my solution making it 4 cups per gallon. Each extra cup really cut that time off it seemed. With addition of Dawn of Gain we can rinse so much more effectively with out redepositing the fats and oils to the opposite side of where i spray.

Hopefully this MO or LO stuff really makes a difference too.
