Whoreing up the winter market

By giving you extra money, your clients are telling you that you are not charging enough. If you are getting every job you bid, your prices are too low. I am in the land of lowballers, and I thought the same thing. Present yourself as a professional, with professional equipment, and you can charge a lot more. I have raised my prices every couple of months and I am still busy as hell. I'm almost at $100 per hour. I can tell you this, NJ can't even come close to the amount of weekend warriors and beer money hacks that Florida does.

Happy that you have the work Ralph, I am loosing about 70%of my bids to others due to people being price driven. If they can save a buck that's what they are doing at least down here. have backed down on my rates but I am still learning that they are to high. Unable or will not go lower on the price but this season its getting bad. Still going to have a great turkey day no matter what.

thanks Ralph n Mike n i totally agree with price should be higher... iam totally legal and my original company Liberty Home Maintenance i was at competing rates 100-150hr averaged with all my services... but since my back surgery couple years ago, being out of work due to that n just moving back, well let's just say i lost everything i owned... now healthy n small loan from pop for a little van for the time being, plus starting back up in August it's going take a little time and alot of hustle to get where i was originally... i still have all my old contacts with the accurate prices n the prices iam running now are only temporary... iam just trying to guarantee myself sold jobs to quickly get back on my feet, eat, get the hell outta of parents house, n move forward.... hopefully next season starting only people get those prices are close friends n family, which sometimes are the worse to work for lol...I def am going to uograde to hot washer, also have a soft wash set up, n going to try the down streaming method with injector that will allow me to use up to 300ft hose..... my friend does it that way n his xjet just collects dust he said... thanks... also who needs a signature? i thought mine is set up

Yes Definitely raise your prices. If you are a professional owner/operator you should get a premium and be selling $200 - $300 per hour. Our minimum job is $350. If you need to make sure you get a job, offer a "special" discount that way you aren't locked in at the low price. Out in your same market Power Home and Remodeling is selling windows at twice the price of any contractor. Its because of the marketing and creating value. Especially when it is just you, your time is even more valuable. Check out www.UAMCC.org and look under events. They are having an event in Baltimore next week and it is worth the trip. Good Luck.

thanks... just hooked up with a realtor who giving me 40 accounts... he said same about prices... he said if anything next season make the change which i will do... I'll go back to my original prices which around 150hr...

I contract everything.... It's only a hassle until you get someone that tries to burn you. There are a select few that get handshake contracts, but everyone else has to at least confirm a proposal with a text or email.
