Commercial Building Cleaning

Mike Hughes

Former Board Administrator
Just thought I'd share a few pictures of a building cleaning job we did a couple weeks ago. We washed the stucco areas of the building, they want the brick done at a later date. All of the stucco areas of the building were either gray or green with mold.

After the washing was done, I talked them into letting me do the windows...........it was a Friday when we washed the building, so the lift rental company was not coming back to pick up the lift until monday morning, so I washed the windows Saturday afternoon......

This whole thing was filthy.........it was a major difference. The wall is still slightly wet (damp) in this picture.

I didnt get before pictures of this section because my camera battery was dead :(

Looks nice, bet those trees helped you out...

Matt

I brought a saw and cut about ten branches off the back of that tree...........the ones that gave me the most trouble were the two over the front door (should have cut those too) but I thought it would look better if I left them.

Mike,

That is an incredible photo. Is that a school? What did the lift rent for? Can you drive it on the grass without damage? How long did it take you and what kind of chem. did you use. If you fear giving away secrets to local competitors give me a private message.I would like to know how you bid it as well.
O.K. Enough questions.

How did you feel the forst time you got in one of those lifts? Safe or shaky?

Thanks for the info. You are doing a great job with the board.

Scott

It sure looks like a school, but its now used as an office building.

The Genie lifts like that are very stable, because they weigh over 15 tons. Because of that, driving on grass is questionable, because of underground utilities........you have to research the property before you drive all over the grass. I really had no fear the first time I used one of those lifts........and still don't. As long as you use common sense and safety practices, you will be OK. The platform is made to handle 500 pounds.....and I only weigh 155. So, as long as I'm on level ground I have no fear.

This particular property had asphalt all around it. The grass was never an issue.

The lifts rent for about $500 for one day, and $850 for a week. That includes delivery and pickup to your jobsite.

And thanks for your kind words about the board.
