pricing to wash roof and how to?

any advice. the home is 1,400 sq ft, how would i price it around what is the going rate per sq ft? i read some on the asphalt roofing manufacturer association what they recommend. should i just downstream 50/50 mix of SH or straight 10% SH on the shingle roof and let it dwell and rinse, apply if needed etc. this is my first time.

Don't downstream period. You need a dedicated pump. Down streaming dilutes too much. Had an idiot here that tried to downstream. I'm assuming he ended having to use a bit of pressure to get it clean. It either a.) Came out looking like crap, or b.) He got one over on the customer, and it came out looking ok, but he definitely took some lifespan off that roof. We're not here to make a quick buck, we're here to offer a solution to a customers problem

Son- guys here are just trying to point you in the right direction

There really is so much information on the topic all over here

I definitedly wouldnt DS for reasons Jeremy pointed out

Regarding pricing- there's many variables in that answer- your area, are you walking the roof?, is there moss?

If you want give me a call and ill try to help you out

And i wouldnt be doing any roof cleaning jobs (or any other) without insurance- its not a good practice and certainly not advocated here

Even considering DS'ing shows a serious lack of knowledge in roof cleaning,.. and, as Mike stated,...not searched out. DS'ing a roof isn't an option,..therefore there is no opinion to be stated.
An opinion is using a 12V pump or an air pump,...where both will render the same results, just a matter of choice and reasoning by the user.

You have all the information right at your fingertips,..and there are other sites to be sifted through,...heck,..that;s part of the fun,..you'll learn things you weren't even thinking about.

Ok. Just read then read some more. That is how I can help you. I'm not bashing you but when I first got into this I read all I could for three months straight then I researched the equipment then my competitors then I went out and did my first roof with a helper and it went without a hitch. Why because I found everything I needed to know on how to clean a roof between this site and the RCIA.

You can down stream a roof with a 2/3 gallon a minute machine with straight 12% . I no a couple of guys who do it and use it as a back up after going to a roof pump . As long as the concentration is strong enough doesn't matter how you kill it. I have a nozzle similar to the x-jet but out before the x-jet I used with my 4gallon machine and straight 12% a few times and worked. Had to shoot it a few times for a good soaker . Hot water is my favorite for walkable roofs and for yearly maintenances .

I'm not a big roof cleaning guy but this just doesn't sound like good advice.

From my experience DS ing is way too weak when combatting any moss or black streaks.

Just my 2 cents- again just from my experience..

Thanks all for the info. research and educate is the key to success! Im going to look into a 12 volt pump i was thinking of uaimg a pump up sprayer but that will take to long. for smaller roofs.

    Step 1) Type this in -- Google.com

Step 2) Copy and Paste This In (without parenthesis) -- site(colon)propowerwash.com How to softwash roof

    Step 3) Click 1st result.

In this business, you eat or get eaten. ESPECIALLY in more populated markets. I hope you have what it takes to avoid the latter. Good luck.

You will not get the strength needed to clean a roof at 20:1 ratio down streaming. Jim stop feeding bad advice on roof cleaning. Stick to the wood.

Hey Jim,..Ds'ing a roof isn't a viable option,..PERIOD,..I don't care if you say you know guys who do it or not,..it is NOT an acceptable method of PROFESSIONAL roof cleaning,..and to come on here and even "kinda" promote it shows me you haven't done many quality roof cleanings in your life at all. You may want to consider sticking with wood cleaning advice,..because your roof cleaning advice isn't up to date,..and actually even sucks,Ha,Ha,...
