pricing to wash roof and how to?

Yep Ed,..amazing how much info there is in proper cleaning methods and yet,...there are still new guys who claim to have "read somewhere" to DS roof mix,..NOW,..where are they reading this,..or are they throwing it out there hoping for positive feedback on what seems like the easier way??,...And in this particular thread we have a guy who's done alot of work in the washing industry,..and yet he still says DS'ing is a viable method when roof cleaning. That would be like me going to the wood cleaning forum and promote 3000 PSI and rotating nozzle for proper deck cleaning,...and promote the cheapest stain I can come up with. Either way it amounts to bad info being delivered by someone who ought to know better.

You mean 3k psi and a turbo nozzle aren't the right way to clean wood?

Back to the drawing board for me.

Ed,

By that time it will all be gone. We did a house (before the recent snow) up in Blairstown, NJ and the customer told me yesterday that the melting snow was washing off the moss and lichen leaving no visible damage.

View attachment 29062View attachment 29063We did this Westfield NJ roof today at 28F. This is how she's gonna stay for a while. I told the customer call me at the end of March for an update on the progress. I'm so proud, like a work of art.

I bet it's all gone.

Hey Ed,..that is the only way to do a roof like that properly. Physically removing that much moss and lichen would leave a severely damaged and unsightly roof. And they wouldn't be happy.

If customers want instant results they better get em' done before they get that bad. After that it's their fault they have to wait.

I dont even have to pray. As sure as the sun will rise, this roof will come clean,

Well that takes the thunder out of calling us "Spray and Pray" roof cleaners. I think you should take that back.... Spreading the truth like that completely contradicts some peoples approach to selling jobs. How are they going to sell any work with this much honesty going around????
