Plastic bed liner or mat

Residential and Commercial Pressure Washing Specia
Curious to see if anyone has tried to use a plastic truck bed liner or truck bed mat to cover the wood on their trailers. I thought it might hold up better than spray in liner and protect the wood better

I would think that whatever you used to fasten the bed liner to the truck would eventually allow comes, water, etc, leak through.

I thought about getting some used conveyor belt from a local concrete plant to put on my trailer but didn't. I think it would help keep the wood in good shape for a longer period of time than not using it.

For "BulletProofing" a wood-floor trailer..
We coat the boards with Fence-Post Preservative,
and cover with rubber mat for "vibration isolation" as well.
..Result is.. longer lasting floor, and a quieter system.

I bought my mats on Craigslist (check there first) it was a gym going out of business so it was the rubber flooring under the weights. Also there are some videos on YouTube for how to cut the mats with a skill saw. Then I used LOTS of liquid nail and screwed it to the deck with screws and panhead washers.Only thing I didn't do was what Jerry suggested which was coating with fence coating preservative, next time. Very happy with the results.

Recently I spent one weekend to prep the frame and spray with a bedliner coating followed up with new decking. Its amazing how a weekend can transform a trailer for under $125.00
The last decking lasted 2 years.

My experience is that pressure treated lumber lasts almost forever and applied sealers are almost worthless on a pressure wash trailer. Fence post sealer sounds like it might be a preservative also. I always wonder if coating the wood or attaching a mat ends up trapping moisture.

Fence-Post Preservative is an oil-based stain.
If applied properly, (top, bottom, and sides,) it has a very good chance to seal-out moisture, thus preserving the wood.

Starting with pressure treated wood is even better.
But not waterproofing pressure treated wood is a mistake outside of the low humidity of Phoenix.

When we drill holes in the wood, we coat them too.

Have you oiled your dining-room table recently ?

Home Depot has some rolls of rubber flooring material. It's atleast 1/8" and probably thicker. It is $1.97 per sq ft. The rolls are 10 ft wide and as long as you want. I am going to coat the entire 18' trailer with one piece and turn it up a couple inches on each side. I was told it will adhere to wood with carpet glue. This should make everything drain off the back. I will also add a few drain holes. It should also keep bleach from the wood and also keep it from running through the cracks on to the axles and leaf springs when there is a spill. Sounds good in theory. Friday we will see if it works as good as I hope
