Your features and Benefits about your company

Hello guys, I am starting this thread to make large list of features and benefits for businesses out there.

Sometimes we don't think about the features and benefits about our companies as it is more related to the selling part of the business but like they say, nothing happens until something is sold.

I think that this list will help not only the new businesses but help some of the guys that have been around a while to think about this in a different light as there are people that forget some of their benefits and remember them and see some that they have not thought about.

This is not just for selling or marketing, this will also help in other areas of your business.

Thank You.

My first inclination would be to discuss about how we can get the job done using very low pressure without damaging the property being cleaned and I still see this as our best benefit. But I need to work more on just emphasizing getting the job done to so many people around here who say "we have our own pressure washer" but never seem to wash their house or have a nasty house and they really don't know how to use their machine anyway.

"I show up"

That alone beats out 99% of the companies out there.

People are simple, that's all they really want. I can't calculate how much money I've made off of jobs I got due to being the only contractor to even show up for a bid.

Lol...some wise man years ago told me..."Return every phone call and do what you say your gonna do..." you'll be way ahead of everyone else.

What Doug said is what we do, it generally makes people happy and impresses them fairly well. Generally we also don't damage peoples property (which is apparently a common problem around here according to our customers) and if by chance there is some sort of rare accident we take responsibility for our action, tell the customer, and fix it ASAP.

That's a business ethic that will keep you busy. Just today I was cleaning a pool deck and I thought I broke the hinge on the door. I was sick about it the whole time. At the end when I was talking to the customer, I told him that I broke it, and he turned to me and said, "Broke what? I have been meaning to get that fixed for months now!"

This is a great thread! The funny part about this post is that I started listing my companies benefits but then I realized that I rarely have to bring up any of the benefits of using my company at all. Typically, the professionalism speaks for itself. They are sold from the website, internal structure and professional courtesy they receive.

I think if you brand your business correctly and have a structured organization it usually just comes down to numbers and closing.

I think branding is the single most important part of a business. Subconsciously a customer is already sold by your companies professionalism. Again, I DONT think this is the only way to be successful, of course, but I think many people underrate how important it is. There is always many ways to skin a cat.

Sorry if I veered off the topic a bit...

Ty sounds like we are very close in business, I wish you well and keep working harder. My new quote for the year.

If you never do more than what you are paid for you can never get paid more for the work you are doing.

Nothing is FREE...you have cost associated with all that and it's passed on to the customer.

Dj this contradicts earlier blogs, you said you turn your phone off and don't answer people between certain hours?

I'm really confused at what your teaching. Also even when I bought you I don't believe you ever answered the phone. You had to always call back, 24 hours? I had to call you three or four times to get a call.

Ron, what you call contradiction DJ calls "Evolvationedness".

I heard Donald Trump was so impressed by that explanation he immediately retweeted it to some other important people. Or something like that.

It appears that this contradiction can easily be explained. You see, if you are a customer who needs work done you get the 24hr "I will answer you back in the order of your importance in relation to my after gym shower and Nair body treatment.".

On the other hand, calls from important self help gurus or contacts from large corporation's HR departments trying to find more useless coaching to fill a required number of mind numbing hrs of instruction - well, these require immediate attention from "staff".

This is all very challenging as keeping up with the different accents and pitches required to appear to have a large staff on the phone is not for the faint of heart.

Lol

I always have fun exposing the ridiculous.

You started out a cocky young punk with nothing to show for your efforts. Now you are simply a cocky older punk. Save only the passage of time your progression would have been nil.

These people here took you under their collective wing and tried over and over again to nudge you into a direction that would allow you to earn the elusive respect that you covet.

Repeatedly you rejected any and all efforts from those older and wiser than you to encourage you to harness the zeal you had, build a solid business foundation, then sit back and enjoy the peace of mind, humility AND sense of accomplishment that comes from real personal and business growth.

You repaid their initial kindness, respect for your youth and zeal and their patience by disrespecting and libelling them.

You are a walking contradiction and a poster child for every failed contractor who values form over substance.

You have made light of some members deeply held religious beliefs, have made false statements about Ron and Scott, and I personally witnessed your hypocrisy lambasting hardworking contractors for "lowballing" while going behind Ron and AC's back offering your own lowball, no overhead, marketing services for "half price" resulting in your earning the distinction of being the first (and only, as far as I am aware of) contractor to be physically removed from an event in progress.

This was a few years ago and as of yet an apology for any of this has never crossed your hillbilly gangster metrosexual lips.

Many fine contractors from all walks of life, all parts of the country, all tastes in music, all social statuses, and all levels of income and success have come together over the years, humbled themselves, shown respect for others from all walks of life and have proudly represented the power washing community as a whole. Unfortunately you have not, and do not seem to have the capability to join those fine contractors and only appear when the opportunity arises for you to name drop other like minded users of others too further prove that your youth and ignorance will only be separated when the youth is gone and all that is left is the ignorance and self aggrandizing projection of your unearned self esteem.

You have told people you expect this from me. Well, at least you have learned that some will never respect your "style" and lack of moral compass and business acumen.

For the few who look to for any guidance I again say more power to them. (If they exist). A fool and their money are soon parted and a shortcut seeking contractor with no money plows a wide path for good, hardworking, humble go-getters to follow through and build real power washing businesses in the wake of inconsistency and incompetence you have led them to blaze a path.

Either man up, apologise and recognize the true path of failure you are building for yourself or find some other venue to suck money and unearned accolades from those who are slowly and methodically "doing" what you couldn't succeed at.

Great post Tony!

I could not have said it better.
