downstream

Hi ... having trouble getting the downstream to pickup any detergents.

Im using a brand new Annovi Reverberi pump 4000 psi @ 4 gpm.

Ive checked for blockages... none.

Ive been told by the supplier that no detergent pick up will work when any more than 10 meters (11 yards) of hose is used. I use 35 meters.

Tested on black detergent tip and no tip at all... same result, the detergent is not interested in flowing.

Any ideas?

Sometimes they are bad when new, that has happened several times.

Your dealer is wrong, obviously he has not ever used one, I have used some with over 500' of hose on them.

thanks fellas .... thought I may have been fed some BS about the situation.

A venturi will get me through for now.

Take care

Checked the flow arrows... all is good. Phoned the supplier and suggested he look on youtube under 'soft wash' to see how some of the equipment is used is set up and how far the injectors can operate a good flow of detergent.

I will be removing the pump today and replacing it with the old one until the supplier can examine my dud.

Thinking a refund might be on the cards.

I've used a machine with an AR pump.... It's not the pump guy, it's probably the injector. Try a new one. Also, make sure it's not an oversized or 5-8 injector.

I don't understand changing out the pump if it is pumping water (It's job), the injector is the part not working (unless the injector is attached to the pump some way, if so get another pressure washer where the components are separate).

Post pics of the injector and your setup.

Try a different trigger gun or try it with just a ball valve and open the ball valve most of the way open. I have had trigger guns for some strange reason that would not pull chemicals and when I changed them the injector worked fine.....might give it a try

As a newbie, I had the same issues with my injector last summer. Here's what I figured out...

I had added a mere 50 ft of hose. This caused enough back pressure so that the injector wouldn't draw the solution. To solve this, I had to do one of 3 things:

1) Remove the extra 50 ft of hose
2) Move the injector further up the hose, so that the distance between the injector and the gun was the same as before
3) Get a different sized injector (smaller?)

I opted for option 2 for now until I can get a different injector. Now it works just as it did before.

Hope that helps.

My down stream is fully adjustable 0-fully open. Dumb question:- Is yours wound down to zero.? I have a 3000 psi 22 litres/minute machine with 45 metres of pressure hose. It draws soap just fine. I did fit a new down stream metering valve a while back and it took a while to bed in. It would fail to open sometimes and I would pull the trigger several times in quick succession to unseat the ball. It has come right and opens every time now.

Check your gun, I don't know if you have northern tool there but none of their guns will downstream. Make sure your gun is at least 10gallons per minute (you might have to convert that to liters), less gpm's will not downstream, more is always better.

There are a lot of things to check, these are some to start off with, there are some great threads in the past that are pages long with lots of things to check and look at.

Chris... this is a brand new pump and if I start removing and replacing bits here and there I will void my warranty, hence the removal of the whole thing. I think its just a dud that has slipped thru the QC.
