Being the Bad Guy

No Brian 31 years of tolerating employees, don't lie they suck.

I had some great guys, wouldn't have been as successful without them.

I knew long ago I was not a day to day operations person. I have not dealt with that stuff for lAst 15 years.

I would say most people who are really a success wouldn't be either. I know Ty has stepped in recently because a break down in his layers are messed up. This is why he broke. We as employers are actually poor at these positions. People will make mistakes. When mistakes are made they cost us money. Really the company that makes the least amount of mistakes wins. But mistakes will be made. Bank on it, oh if you think they are not then your in fantasy land.

My sales crews are not techs FYI , they don't even see each other. Operations does not see the outside sales unless there is a serious issue. Supervisors only, strict policy sales do not bother techs. These two people are a different breed.

That system above stops you from training competitors also by the way.

If you break the processes down, separate the tasks no one person has all the pieces to the puzzle.

My first office manager was genius, the systems she set up 20 years ago pretty much still drive the company. Small changes to digital made back in 2008 09 , for the most are the same we have been using since 95 solid.

Brian I love people , smart people. I have little need for idiots and won't hire them. Learned long ago it's pretty simple, pay them more. But just don't pay them more find the right ones that need you as much as you need them.

I've offered to Dave Mac today my help, for some reason he's negative here at Pwi.

I offer to help you personally if you want Dave to help you become possibly more positive towards the industry and others.

I'll show you by helping others you can be more successful.

I hope you take my offer and we stop this crap between us.

Hope you have a great day Dave, try contributing in threads. Share and honest situation you have had dealing with people. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes. I believe we all learn being honest. Can't lie to yourself thinking your a perfect person.

I've made much larger mistake over the 30 years in life.

Things go on we learn our lessons.

My help is yours if needed!

There is a ton of wisdom in that post Ron.

Failing to know that information years ago is why the two businesses we owned prior to Sonitx owned US instead of the other way around.

Ron I guess you have a issue with any one who has a different opinion then you. I simply agreed with Brian that any one who throws stuff at people has anger issues. Then you text me saying I am negative, how is that negative to agree with someone??

Ron this is a great forums I tried to block you out so I would not ever see your post but it wont let me.

You seem to attack me every-time I have a different opinion then you do.

If you would like to help me can you please block all of your post on this site to me, that would be a great help.

Ps I am one of the most positive people you have ever talked to. why the constant attacks? are you full of that much hate to anyone who has a different opinion then you.

You ask me why I hang around you guys on a text, I dont hang around you guys, I come here because of a lot of people, and you are not one of them, that I promise. This is a great forum, If I could just block you out I would but the controls don't allow it.

Ron please loose my telephone number I am getting tired of all your instigating text messages.

Thanks for the help on blocking your post and loosing my telephone number. Can I count on you for that?

Please allow me to help you with your problem. Try this:

Go to your settings and change your password. When it asks for your new password close your eyes and hit a bunch of random numbers.

Then hit enter and log out.

Problem solved. You will never have to see posts from Ron again.

I was trying to block you also but it wont allow me to block moderators. this is a great forum I am friends with most every one here Just would like to block a few here. By the way I would consider that a very negative post you made with drama written all over it

Steve Jobs had anger issues too. Seemed to work out OK. My problem, believe it or not, is that I'm too soft on my employees. Have slowly taken a harder line as time goes on. I want them to be happy, but they're not my friends. Part of the issue was I was always younger than or the same age as my employees so it felt weird being the boss. Not necessarily the case anymore and I've earned my stripes.

Lol. You can block me using the same instructions above.

Here's a thought - why don't you start your own "no drama" board.

Oh wait, one already exists. You could be the hero today and go there to post one of your rants about Ron and me and increase their post count by 50%!

yet another negative post by someone who is suppose to be a leader what a shame.

I would like to say I Apologize to the original poster of the thread Tye for the one sentence that I posted in this thread that I agreed with someone post about someone having a anger issue if they throw stuff at people. then for some reason I am being personally attacked in this thread and on my cell phone by the moderators of this forum.

I posted two words in this thread that led to a personal attack on me by the moderators that is just crazy, good day all, and this is a great thread on how to handle employees so sorry for getting it off course with the agreeing with someones opinion.

Our job as a leader is to try and find the right people for the job give them the tools they need to do a good job and if they do not perform then find another. I agree that the right people make the company better in many ways.

it is very hard to get the right person and even when the company does everything it can for them they will still listen to there favorite radio station. WIIFM. I am loosing 2 key guys that just told me they are leaving after so many years but I am excited to replace them and make better systems for the new people to help the company get stronger.

I've watched Ron. I have only seen him interact with the guys on the ground on a few occasions. Most of his dealings are with the middle management and it seems to work well.

I think Scott may have a more hands on approach but that seems to work well for him too. I hope he will chime in on here.

In our other businesses we didn't' have as much knowledge as we have now. The only thing that seemed to work was to make the employee an invested employee by paying them by production and deducting pay for mistakes. You'd be surprised how a strict method like that will reduce mistakes. We almost never have to repair bent coils because the culprit has to fix it on his/her own time. (and it could take hours). On the other hand we give out bonuses for jobs well done with no mistakes.

This really is a good thread. I used to yell all the time because all of my construction jobs I had that's what we did. We would even fight sometimes. But in the end we all would shake hands and move on. That was as an employee. Now as a business owner I have found that yelling dosent work. I now will stop my team and explain why what they are doing is not correct and teach them the way I want it done. This helps create a better work environment and keeps up production. Now I will not sit here and say that I don't loose my cool every now and then but if I do I always try and end it as a learning lesson. My guys respect me more for that and again they are not my friends but I treat my employees good and I am always allowing them to provide input to help us all as a company and eventually everyone will make more money because of being more proficient.

Might still be too early to be otherwise/make the changes to fix it... Or maybe we just havnt put the systems in place yet, but our business def currently owns us.
