Altering a Thermal Relief Valve??

Hi All

Is it realistically possible to alter a Thermal Relief Valve to a system whereby the water pressure build up can be sent to my holding tank?

It really is a pain having to turn off the PW every time there could be a delay of a few minutes and then restart things again. Far less foot work and time saving.

In my part of Australia, we are based in a rural environment where the attitude of the 'cow cockies' is... "she'll be right mate". So house cleaning is not really a priority, but slowly we are converting at least some households to get their homes washed using the Soft Wash system. At this time, the investment into new and sparkly machinery is not on the cards, the demand simply is not yet there.

Thanks

Hey Gunna
Is this a hot water unit you are asking about when you say "Thermal Relief Valve."?
Same problem here in NZ with the cockies, I tried to get into the milking shed market a while back and generated ZERO interest.

I would not modify the relief valve but instead plumb the bypass line from your unloader to your tank. this will act like a large radiator and allow you to run in bypass for a much longer time before the water heats up.
