Fake Google Business Reviews....Is This OK?

I think a bogus work review will hurt you in some form or another, If I am asked to give a Google review by a company that has never hired me all I can do is a character review, If I know them. When you read in posts that their company is knowledgeable, Offers assistance to others then it would be safe to say they provide the same for their customer. I do not imply ever that They did work for me.

Its called doing the right thing the wrong way. I know i'm a man of many words.

I see the obvious benefit of it SEO wise but I think it is completely unethical regardless. I know a local competitor who has several fake reviews on Maps and it is just pathetic when the rest of us are out here working hard soliciting our customers for real, legit reviews.
This coming from the guy who got his mom to leave him a review. A simple Facebook search of one of your "customers'" names reveals that. You working so hard for those reviews I see.... Getting on here trying to out me for doing something you're guilty of... Tsk tsk

Devils Advocate here. Might he be just soliciting them a whole lot harder? I got my cell phone fixed and he gave me $10 off if I did a positive review right on site. I don't think you are supposed to do that, but he was and offered me $10 off a service I was very happy with.

We try to get our customers to do as well. The only one we had for a very long time was a fake bad review that was not ever a customer of ours.

I guess you're right Jeff, January & February here was ice, snow, teens and 30 degree weather......perfect weather for house washing......guess I'm not trying as hard, guess that's on me. The guy that lives in India was happy with his service....that's a little out of our service area....Lol!

It's all good, Karma is a funny thing.

LOL....

Unethical, but I see it in my area. Whatcha gonna do? Just have to keep working hard Guy and keep doing things the right way. That's all we can do, really.

I hired a secretary this year ( first one I've ever had ) and you know your doing it right when customers question her to make sure they dialed the correct number. Not hearing my voice on the other end of the phone for customers I've had for 10+ years makes them unsure until she assures them they have the right number. That's when you know.

There are several companies in the Houston area doing this right now - one has over 100 reviews. It is a ticking time bomb as far as i'm concerned. I would never consider it in general but when you see the guys ranking at the top all do it it makes you wonder....but still a no no in so many ways as far as I'm concerned!

I have one review. from my son. I drove to Massachusetts to wash his house. it came out nice and he was happy. gave me a good review. but come on man how can it be ethical from ANY stand point seo or anything else. When someone lies to their customers they are no longer trustworthy. when you get caught lying or cheating your whole world, past, present and future comes into question. I rely heavily on reviews when i am buying a product.
