Buy Now Check Out

AZ PowerWash Pros

Was wondering what you guys thought about just setting up a power washing website so people checkout. I was thinking about how I currently have a bidding script on my site. And then I thought why not just let the customer buy online? Obviously, I could lose on price without seeing the job but was thinking worse case scenario I have the clients money and I just have to explain I need a little more to complete the work. I can put in a disclaimer that some jobs need to be seen in person and a full refund will be given if that is the case. Or something like that. But just started thinking why not let them checkout online??

I am sure there are plenty of cons but there are plenty of pros too. Anyone doing this already? Would be interested in hearing everyone's thoughts.

BTW, I am talking residential only. I may try this out this year just to give it a shot.

I like it. There are cons with everything but the benefits may out way the negative. More and more customers want instant gratification.

Ty- I agree with Jason

Most clients today are so convenience oriented and want simpler ways to conduct business

I think its definitely something worth looking into and trying out

It may be needed to be modified somewhat- but its the way all technology is eventually heading

Thinking outside the box with new innovative ways to make it client friendly is the way of the future

I think it will work for a certain type of customer and would def be worth checking out. I have many customers that call and say just go do it and bill me...they don't ask to discuss price. They just want it done.

Ty - I really think the success will also depend a lot on the local culture. I our area, the native locals (who make up the bulk of the population) need the trust and social factor to be built first. The smaller percentage of our population that transplanted from big cities like Baltimore and Philadelphia seem to be more on board with something like you are discussing. Just a thought.

I have done residential for 25 years and I can tell you that selling to them and having a work order for the guys to follow is the way to go. Your techs do not want to and will not sell them up. I have tried. If you are the lead tech and do all the work then you can sell them up. After doing over 25,000 residential jobs I may be wrong. What do I know.

I dont think you are wrong or right. I think you are stating your opinion and I truly appreciate your opinion. I think everyone runs their business a little differently. I am going to try it out and I may be on here in 6 months talking about how you were right! Haha

My company I have a residential sales account manager. So what I plan on doing is having them buy online. Sending my sales guy out to the job with the tech and take care of the customer from there. But we also give our techs commission for upsales. I got 1 guy that upsales 1 time a day.

Good point Jason. Phoenix is pretty big! Everyone here is use to the shop online style. But I am sure this will only appease maybe 10% of my customers. But good to keep them happy.
