Hey guys Im just starting up. Any and all help will be appreciated. Try not to laugh at my problems.

I bought a 3500 PSI Hot water rig with no chemical tank or pump. I am now learning from reading the forms that I will most likely need one. What do I need to do the get chemicals on the driveways/houses/concrete with out one? or is that even possible?

What kind of chemicals are right for the right jobs(oil. rust, ect.)? ( having a hard time with oil stains)

New to this stuff and ready to learn, please help.

Downstream
XJet
Pump up Sprayer
Pour out of bucket

^From weaker to stronger

Downstream is ok but tough to get much strength especially with commercial when you could be messing with spilled grease from grease trap

X Jet gets good strength but is kind of a pain in the butt because you are messing with two hoses. I know some guys have some clever ways of dealing with the hose.

Pump up sprayer suck and I hate them. There is probably a good one out there but my experience is they work for ten minutes.

The bucket thing sounds like a joke but it's actually an ok option.

welcome to the group.im new myself and the only advise I can say is spend allot of time reading threw these forums, im a firm believer in that there is no such thing as too many questions but almost every question has alredy been answered just have to look for It, im still learning that haha. everyone here likes to contribute but I get the impression they get tired of answering the same questions to help people prosper in this industry and then they never contribute to the site they take the help an run, not implying that that is you intentions just putting it out there. I remember reading where Ron wrote somthing like the more you give to the site the more you get from the site. im still trying to figure out how to contribute being such a newb myself lol but nothing happens overnight so im moving one comment at a time eventualy I will get recognized as more than a newb. hope my comment helps goodluck pm me if there anything u need help with ill do my best.

Get 2 things:
1. Pump Sprayer - make sure you clean it out every time after using it or you will be buying a new one or repair kits 5 times a month
2. Watering Can - they are dependable and work well with degreasers, no so much for expensive chemicals that you have to do precise measurements. But great for degreasers and never break down on you.

Rust - F9
Oils - degreaser - there are lots of them, kinda a preference thing. You can mix your own with caustic flake or beads or you can buy pre-mixed products that are more eco-friendly like EBC. I would do some testing and cost analysis to see what works best for you.

Also FYI, here is a list of Must Haves:

Musts in my opinion are:
-turbo nozzle
-xjet
-300 ft of hose (I prefer gray)
-water proof boots
-eye wear gloves
-good surface cleaner
-bag of tools w 2 Cresent wrenches
-dental pick
-bag of orings
-ball valve
-back up quick connects
-cones
-wet floor signs
-300 gallon water tank
-2 reels Hannay or cox
-good red water hose
-back up tips
-insurance

WELCOME AND GOOD LUCK!

Cody, I'm a newb too. I've had my unit for 2 years before I decided to really get my feet wet (pun intended).
I've been at it for about five weeks now.
Picked up 8 monthly service accounts, and just did three of them this week for the second service. All clients so far have been really satisfied.

My hot water unit didn't have chem tanks either. I installed a downstream injector and two 35 gallon tanks with a 3-way ball valve. Honestly, I've hardly used the chem tanks, as I've been targeting restaurants & other commercial concrete work. The downstreaming just doesn't get the concentration of product down. So I've been carrying that stinkin' bucket around with an X-jet.

Sodium Hydroxide works really well on oil, and I can get it locally and inexpensively. Just be careful with it!
Gotta say though, I love EBC. Ordering more next week.
Dwell time is important for both. Even a little agitation on trouble areas with a stiff bristle broom is sometimes necessary.
Gonna try BT200 soon. Looking forward to what that will do with motor oil stains.
Rust = F9
Gum = hot hot water (I'm still nervous about damaging concrete with a 10 degree tip) Any advise there would be welcome.

Read this forum till your eyes bleed!! AGAIN!! READ THIS FORUM TILL YOUR EYES BLEEEEEED!!

Can't express how appreciative I am to this forum for what I've learned. Truly priceless.
