how do you generate business?

Most of my current business is through social media. There are several community/neighborhood groups that I've gotten involved with and using those as channels to promote my services.

As far as knocking on doors, most towns around me have city ordinances that prohibit door-to-door solicitation, or make it so you have to jump through a bunch of red tape and fees to do it. Couple that with the fact that my door knocking/door hangers have generated a total of zero accounts, it's just not worth it for me.

Edit - my business is residential right now. My approach doesn't apply to commercial.

Word of mouth, website, customer data base and mailers. Knocking on doors in Jacksonville is a good way to get shot so we don't do that anymore. Been threatened and pushed too many times.

When i say knock on doors it means getting out there and approaching people who need your services

Residential canvassing for PW isnt what i meant and in IMO is probably not a good use of your time

However- i would canvas job sites with the 5-5-5 rule- 5 houses on both sides and 5 across the street-even if i left a door hangar

It wont yield a big bang but everything counts
