Got great feed back today

Roof cleaning customer says Ya know I chose your business because you cost double. Happy dance. My daughter is back on the job with dad kicking "A". She's been coming to work with me since 5years old and kills it. I call her Daddy's Little Work Horse.

Awsome Job Joseph! I constantly hear that from my customers as well...it's a great feeling when people understand quality workmanship isnt cheap.

I cant wait till my lil guys are old enough to bring to work. My oldest is 3 and he is OBSESSED with my box truck rig, he thinks its the coolest thing in the world lol. I come home before taking the box truck to my shop and let him ride with me, and once we get in the parking lot ill let him sit in my lap and "drive" lol He LOVES it. Every morning he says "comin dad...let go to work box truck", makes ya proud

Getting your kids on the job is a great thing. My old business partner started his son welding at 6-7 years old. Then enrolled his in Hysecurty gate operator school at 14. He's probably the best skilled mechanic I know. At 16 we had him working at all the major energy plants, chemical plants in NJ and Maryland - Dc defense buildings. With a squeaky voice smoking every other employee, me included. Ya start them young with hanging out then after HS they are better than you. And for our kids if they go away to collage they can earn great money cleaning a house or roof every week.

Totally agree on the kids! My 13 year old daughter goes on jobs with me all the time. When guys complain about being able to handle 3/4" spray hose, I send them a picture of her when she was 12 up on the ladder spraying with the 3/4".

Yup girls don't complain. In a couple weeks I'm helping a customer install his trim and moldings. My daughter will be there kicking both our butts. She's 15 with 11 years pt carpentry experience. Just enough time helping out she decided to become a chiropractor.

I have had my kids work with me a few times in the past. Mostly just a coupe of days weekends or something just to earn a few bucks for sneakers or something. this year i took my daughter on full time and she ROCKS. works ten times better/harder than 4 or 5 other guys i had work with me.

Many ppl don't realize how much this teaches them. Getting them out there just here and there making a few dollars over time changes their mindset. They learn spending earned money should be done wisely. Drive. They learn sales experience. How to meet expectations and handling a pita client. Personally my daughter has realized what I've been for years is very valuable for her future. Growing up adults always say what do you want to be. Instead when she reached middle school I ask what lifestyle do you want to live. I've always pushed her and youngest daughter towards self employment. She came to flexible hours, lots of cash money, medical without blood & guts, sports and nutrition. Chiropractor!! Great because my body is busted .. Think the best thing is now she is self motivated. during school 5am she starts with a high octane breakfast, then school, runs 2.5 miles at gym class, then power lifting class, then lacrosse. she eats 3x at school. Then during the off season self motivated still practicing after school. All that motivated her to go after advanced studies instead of complaining or being lazy. I'm no hard-as$ either. I'm pretty dang lazy till the last minute. Really just think these kids are capable of way more than we believe. Think them being involved in sports is a way to see things different, expend energy, stay healthy, confidence while driving towards greatness and praise. Out of all my childhood friends those who's parents were self employed or athletes are doing best now. The more they experience, the more they are prepared for.

Many new roof cleaners fail to understand that if you are too cheap, quality customers will RUN AWAY FROM YOU.
