multiple Web sites

we run several different domains, however it is only for marketing purposes. They all redirect to one (www.centraflo.com).

But for our marketing purposes, its a lot easier to remember “CentralFloridaRoofCleaning.com” or “SoftWashOrlando.com” then trying to get someone to remember how to spell “CentraFlo.com”

If you are trying to fill up the first page of google with a bunch of websites that have the same contact info and content, I am pretty sure you will be penalized, or at least google will pick one of your sites to show. If you do what David does, pointing the sites to a main site you are probably ok. I have two sites on the first page of google right now. They are different names and different contact info, and google is ok with it I guess. I am not trying to pull a fast one or anything. I am changing the name of my company and want to catch up to the first one, before I redirect it to my new domain.

Well said. The short answer is No it won't penalize you. The long answer is Yes it will penalize you if you don't do things correctly. And like Ralph mentioned if you try to dominate the web for a single search phrase and show up multiple times on the first page for a particular phrase. Google will put an end to that fast. At one point, you were able to get away with that though. I was 8 of the 10 spots for a particular search phrase at one point, and then Google changed their algorithms.

Just do some web research and do it right to ensure you are not penalized.

Good Luck!
