What will get these stains out?

I originally posted this in the Concrete Restoration section. Maybe it's not getting the exposure, I haven't gotten any replies. (Not that anyone owes me anything.)

Originally these looked like rust. I treated a test spot with Oxalic Acid. It did okay on actual rust, just not these stains. Does anybody have any ideas? I'm at a loss as to what caused these in the first place.

That looks a little weird. My process to diagnose a stain is to do a separate test spot with acid, bleach, and degreaser. Then hit it with pressurized water. Usually one will have some sort of reaction and that will tell me what I'm dealing with.

Sounds effective

You're a smart man. I did just that. The degreaser I used was called Angry Orange. It's mostly used for oilfield cleaning. It did great on the oil spots. It even melted 2 buckets. I washed with 8 gpm at 3,000 psi hot water. I came back later that night with some Oxalic. Mixed 12 ounces to 1 gallon.

Newb question: Why did you come back with Oxalic? what would have happened had you not?

Thanks man

Ben

Oh and can you post the "after" pics?

Ben

I used Oxalic acid because it does a pretty good job on some rust stains. I went back later because of customer traffic. Those are the after pics. I didn't use acid on all of it. Just the part with the white circle. The white parts were there before.
