Should have listened sooner

In Charleston I did a presentation that dealt with the dangers of listening to the wrong people in business. I was speaking from experience. I got caught up with the wrong people who were more interested in how I could improve their bottom line than helping me. That cost me years of serious business growth.
For example, I have a customer who's windows I've cleaned for years. They have tons of storage units and a huge lawn care business. Because I have been taking advice from real business owners now I decided it was time to talk to them about doing all their concrete cleaning. Today I go to talk about a huge new storage complex they are building, not to bid it, but to set up dates to clean it. I got the job because I went to them with the tools the UAMCC and serious business people in that org have given me.
Thanks for being about helping instead of taking.
