first roof / putting green

Working on a large project for a customer, and have already washed his house exterior and around his pool deck. Next stage is cleaning / lightly scrubbing his gutters with Gutter Grenade from our friends at PressureTek (stuff works great) and cleaning his driveway. Couldn't do the driveway during the first stage, as he had other contractors working on the property. Anyways, I went out to his house and showed him what the Gutter Grenade would do for him, and he loved it and agreed to get them cleaned. As we talked, he mentioned he wanted me to clean his roof for him also. Now, I am all about keeping the customer happy, but I am also honest when I say that I have no clue what to do on the roof. It's a two story house, and has a pretty steep roof. Customer has already agreed to rent a lift and/or scaffolding as needed for places where a ladder just wont work. I am in the process of locating a local supplier of 12.5% SH (have only done walls and cement so regular 8.5% from the store has worked just fine). I have roof snot already from Russ, and I am currently operating with a 4 gpm cold washer. Russ also turned me on to the J-Rod for soft washing, so I have that also in my arsenal. I have contacted a buddy in town who has a lawn business and does PWing during the slower months, and he has agreed to come and help me along with his crew since this is something he is interested in also. I plan on mixing 12.5% (1:1 mix with water plus 5oz of roof snot) in a 5er and DS using high draw injector and 150' of 3/8" hose. As of right now, my budget has no room in it to purchase any type of dedicated equipment for roof washing. Hopefully after this job is complete I may be able to purchase something.

Also, customer also has a putting green with artificial turf next to his swimming pool. It is turning black - I would love to clean it for him as sort of a "suprise", but don't want to damage it. I know that I can probably just take my house wash (3 parts 8.5% to 2 parts water plus surfactant) and DS that to hopefully take care of it. I would just hate to do a sample area and that area not work out so great and have to replace the entire putting green.

Any suggestions about the putting green would be greatly appreciated, and hopefully some of you can tell me if I am headed in the right direction with this roof.....I do plan on applying using "soft wash" tips, and rinsing with a garden hose, as well as having someone on the ground constantly rinsing walls and plants with fresh water as we apply the roof mix.

I know it's probably taboo to ask this last part, and I understand if nobody wants to answer this, but how the heck do you price a roof?? I have never done it before so I have no clue how long it is going to take, and how much I will be spending on chemicals.
Thanks in advance.IMG_7654.jpgIMG_7652.jpgIMG_7651.jpgIMG_7653.jpg

Your gonna need a dedicated pump and hose for the roof cleaning. D'S is just not going to work. That roof is a fairly easy roof to walk. Pricing should be between 20-40 cents per square ft. Pressure tek has a roof cleaning kit for 4-500. Good luck.

forget about downstreaming. Even if you place your injector in straight 12.5%(non-diluted) your mix will be too weak!

JMO, I wouldn't touch the green unless asked to do so!!! Some things are best left alone...

Thanks guys for your help. Looks like I need to hit a few more driveways before I can do this roof. Looking at the Fatboy Bandit system from PressureTek. I can remove my small pressure washer from my trailer and mount this in it's place, but have to secure the funds first. Small PW is what I was originally using to wash vinyl and home exteriors but now using my 4gpm unit with soft wash tips. I have finally found SH in my area, but I have to drive 2 hours to get it from Univar. Found a local company that has it also, but they want $40 for 5 gals - thanks, but no thanks on that one!!!!

Kasey, just so I don't screw this up, you are talking 40 SH to 60 Water, correct?

Anyone online have anything for downspouts? I don't know if I will be able to run out to the street (very large property), but I would like to get the runoff away from the flowerbeds.

Clean3be, you may have a point there my friend. I am a little eager to give the customer more than they ask for, but you may be right that he may take it the wrong way.
