How would you bid this?

I have already submitted a quote but curious how you guys would bid this. The job is composed of two buildings that are 200x60 feet. A total of 24,000 sq ft. All but about 300 sq ft are very walkable and the roofs Are in pretty fair condition with only mild streaking and dark areas.

It's not just parking that will be an issue... Anybody walking in or out of their room has the potential to get dripped on. You would almost need to detour the drip line so no one walks through it. Personally projects like these may not be worth the trouble, unless the hotel is very willing to close off certain rooms on their slowest days to give you a little more freedom.

I have seen it a hundred times before. Someone says walk away from this or that job. WHY? everything is worth it you just need to figure it out. Not everything is like butter. in fact most times, most jobs, come with some sort of PITA factor. one just has to overcome those issues.

You make it sound like my reply was negative... I never told him to walk away. You say everything is worth it, he said he already put a bid in. Well if that bid doesn't take into account the extra measures that must be taken to ensure the hotel guests and their property is safe, then it might very well not be worth it (financially).

With that being said, some projects are not worth it but can still be a good learning experience. I simply was trying to point out there may be some factors that were over looked.

Nah no negativity there is there.

here are a few things i would do. Caution tape always works good. Tie off one area at a time and have a personable ground person that can interact with room renters and tell them what's up. Don't over load the roof with chems so to reduce your waste. absolutly make sure that you and the customer are on the same page for the end result. I always ask the customer, " what are you looking to achieve ". Charge accordingly, with these bigger roofs come different challenges so make it worth your while. I think that if a customer wants something done and is willing to pay me what i want to get done then it is worth it. not all jobs are the cream of the crop.

Extra person is a must. Someone that is free 100% of the time for people is a must on a job like this. Have a friend in the business that had a claim while doing a Holiday inn. Couple drops of bleach got on a customer. Definitely do it. Get Paid$$$$$

I'm not sure what you mean by "how would you bid this"? What exactly are you looking for in an answer? Price? Process and Procedure?

Thank you all for the replies. If I get the contract I have planned to caution tape off the affected area as well as have a dedicated ground person to handle any patrons of the hotel. I am curious if I left much money on the table when I submitted the bid. I am a single man operation but have a ground guy when needed. Overhead is extremely low as I own the shop I operate out of. I am licensed and insured.
