Surfactant and Detergent?

I finally ordered the roof snot. Roof snot works amazing in shingle roofs but on barrel tile roofs it doesn't have the same affect. Does anyone notice this or am I doing something wrong. It works obviously better then not having it but I wish it was like the shingles.

The 2 surfaces have a different texture to them. Might try bumping up the dose a bit.

That was going to be my second move. I'm currently adding 32 ounces to 50 gallon mix what do you think is appropriate for the barrel tile?

It's not going to have the same affect...you are basically spraying concrete when cleaning tile...if your pump allows you too, try spraying with a smaller size nozzle and add little more roof snot. But before you add more roof snot make sure there are gutters...remember the more surfactant you use to help stick to the the roof, the more it will stick to plants. On tile roofs we usually don't add much Roof Snot, (just enough to help the cleaning), but we adjust our spray technique to help limit run off. No two ways about it, on Tile you are going to have run off.

I doubt CLR is as effective as F9,..two different acids. Oxalic is cheap enough to have on hand and works on many forms of rust and has other uses as well.

I think PP is hard to beat,..both in effectiveness and the cheap price is a bonus. I used F-13 once and there wasn't even a comparison to PP,..Especially at any type of dilution rates they claim,..I had to use it straight to even be close to PP. Not very cost effective.
When purchased wisely,..PP it can be had for $19.00 per 5 gallon bucket,..shipped to your door! I use it mostly on gutters,..very effective on the typical streaking. Like any of these cleaners though,..very temperature dependent. It's also an awesome degreaser!

*Likely gonna get a few opinions on this,Ha,Ha,..Been discussed MANY times over the years.

Hey Jeff,

where are you finding purple power that cheap? do you have a link?

Order online from from Advance Auto,.. When ordering you have to order at least $75.00 worth of items to get free shipping. And when you place your order use code TRT30 or TRT41 in the coupon section.

I order (5) buckets at a time and the total is $129.95. With TRT41 and tax added the total ends up $95.35,..making each bucket $19.00 and change.

TRT30 or TRT41 are very close to each other in savings.

The max savings with these coupons is $50.00,..which is why I only order (5) buckets at a time. I place one order,.and then place another order and so on,..depending how many buckets you want to order at a time.

*And they bring it to your door.

Steven,..you also need to sign up for Advance Auto Speed Perks. When you place orders over varying amounts you get extra savings with coupons from your "Speed Perks" account.

I just ordered (5) buckets and had an extra $20.00 taken off due to previous purchases. My total for (5) buckets was only $81.00 and change.

Ordering things like fuel pumps and batteries gives you alot of savings through Advance Auto. I will often order online for things they have in stock at the local store,..I use the discount coupons,.place my order and go pick it up.

Speed Perks coupons and the TRT codes can be used together.

I did this sidewalk almost a year ago and I am now seeing stripes where the surface cleaner passed through. Is this normal?

Did you pretreat and post treat. That pic indicates it wasn't cleaned thoroughly. The edges get cleaned twice so that part was cleaned right. Dirt, algae, mold attracts to each other. I learned this early on and post treat if I have the slightest inkling the driveway wasn't deeply cleaned. I have some pics somewhere of a driveway I cleaned like 9 months ago. It looks like I cleaned it yesterday. Also did you go upand down and side to side? It looks like the stripes go in two directions in some spots. Another possibility is you stripped the cream off where you overlapped and the dirt isn't sticking to the concrete in those areas.

Ralph, How strong are you pre and post-treating with? 2? 3?

Thank you.

Yea,..Speed Perks are nice along with the 30% off code. I mean,..you gotta buy auto stuff and PP anyhow,..may as well save as much as you can.

I agree with Ralph,.pre-treating and post treating are so beneficial,..it's actually amazing how long properly cleaned concrete will stay clean looking.

I do each job on a determination,..if it's a problem area,..I will always pre and post treat,..if it's a basic cleaning,..I usually just pre-treat. Unless I decide to brighten with oxalic.

I am curious what you would post treat the concrete with?
