Also another question have you guys ever heard of fabuloso all purpose cleaner? It has a very strong scent and it smells very good. I was wonder if that is chlorine stable bc it would make a good scent to mask the SH.

Gotta give credit to that little Shurflo,..holding up to 12.5%. How many roofs have you done with it? Anyhow, yes that wand you have will work fine. If you're getting 24-30 Ft. from that pump at the top of a ladder that's not bad and about all you can expect from that pump. Working in calm conditions makes a big difference in shooting distance as well.

You need to get a stainless female quick coupler and a J-Rod on the end so you can easily switch nozzles. A J_rod has more than one nozzle,..how many you want is up to you. Usually a 0 degree and a a fan pattern of your choosing.

Not sure about the Fabuloso,..But I do like a change of smell once in a while. My smell of choice is is lemon, always smells clean,..but while I was at Home Depot one day this past Summer I bought some Pinallen Lavender,..recommended by Art Oliveri,..and Art is right,..it does change the smell very well,..from bleachy to more of a cleaning solution type smell,..if that makes "scent" Ha,Ha,...

* I don't change the smell because of the customer,..never had a customer complain,..I do it because I like a change for myself once in a while. I typically use it in a house wash mix,..Doesn't seem to hurt anything,..but not sure in a roof mix if it just sits there for any period of time,....I think Art said it's fine with his mix,..so that's what I'd go with. But you are using 12.5%,..gonna be a tough time trying to cover that smell.

**I think after while trying to use a cover scent gets tiresome,...I think most guys end up using whatever smell their chosen detergent makes.

Fabuloso makes your mix smell pretty good. It doesn't completely cover the SH smell, but freshens it up, for sure.
I'd hope by now he's figured out the proper strength for roof mix, and WONT BE USING STRAIGHT 12.5% ANYMORE.

I Dont think I'll be using straight SH anymore after hearing about gain and roof snot. I will try it and let you guys know how it work. Is the jrod the one that have 4 fitting nozzle attached side by side?

Yes, The JROD is the one with 4 nozzles side by side. Get one. Well worth it... You will need to install a 1/4" Stainless quick coupler at the end of your lance. You just need the adapter to go from 1/2" pipe to 1/4" pipe thread. Make sure the JROD you order is designed for your GPM. Otherwise, you will either end up making your pump work harder(too small of orifice in nozzles) or loose reach with your spray(orifice too large in the nozzles).

Bob at "Pressure Tek" and I think Paul at "The power wash store" carries them.

Did a roof today with 50/50 mix and a bottle of gain soap 24oz and it worked like a charm. It cleaned a lot faster than straight SH and it wasn't as bad on my lungs. I would say I might need another bottle of soap bc it still ran off the roof. I will order that roof snot and try that next. Thanks everyone for the advice.

It's always going to run, especially in the valleys. It's always tempting to flood it to get done faster but a big part of run off is the technician. Put less on and less will run off. As for the surfactant i use a mixture of roof snot and gain. There is dirt on those roofs besides the algae and it seems to me that when I use gain they look better, especially after it rains.
