Surface Cleaner/Concrete Help

So im still fairly new and have been in here reading a lot. I have a few questions that i have not been able to find a straight answer on though.
Im using a 4/4k belt pressure pro with a 20in hammerhead with 25025 tips, and 50ft -150ft of hose.

1.)I cleaned a drive way and sidewalks the other day. When i was rinsing the side walk i noticed a little sand was in the mix of dirty water. It was not like mountains of sand but definitely noticeable. So im assuming i might have taken some of the cream off the sidewalks. When rinsing the driveway there was no noticeable sand in the water.
Some times when i rains where i live i see lots of sand in the street so again not really sure it i took the cream off the sidewalk or not because it came out good from what i can tell. (The pic of the side walk is the "after" pic.)

2.)Once home i looked at the SC and noticed that the tips look to be pretty close to the ground in height, so its possible that could have been why there was sand. It might also explain the noise i would sometimes hear when i would cross the strip of wood in between slabs. Almost like a hitting or chipping sound. So how do you lift the bar on the hammerhead? The instruction that came with it are pretty worthless.

3.) I also notices some teal looking paste coming from the bottom of the swivel. I have only used this SC 4-5 times and not for very long periods either. Im assuming its the factory grease, im just not sure if its normal for grease to leak out like this especially so soon. Also when i spin the bar by hand you can hear it grinding, so i know that i need to grease it.

4.)How often is everyone greasing their surfaces cleaners and with what grease?

I didn't want to make an individual thread for each question so i just put them all in here.
Thanks for all the help

On the side of the collar (second pic, swivel goes into it) There is a big allen screw. Loosen that, then pull the swivel up to where you want it then tighten allen screw. Do you have a zirk(grease) fitting on yours?

Oh by the way all that sand you see is the cream coat getting stripped off. My hammerhead did the same thing until I looked at my tips and they were in the same place yours is. Easy fix. Replacing the cream coat on an irate customers driveway is a lot harder.

I grease every time i take my SC off of the trailer. If I do 3 jobs in a day, it gets 3 shots of grease.

Your tips have you putting about 3000 psi at the tips, minus ~135 psi when using 150' of 3/8" hose. Lots of residential cement has compressive strength of 2000# so if you go over that, you are asking to damage it.
I went to 2503 tips and have not seen a lick of sand since doing so. Moving them up as Ralph suggested may do the trick - my SC is not adjustable.

Thanks for the info on moving the swivel up. Will move it tomorrow morning.
I do have the zirk fitting on the top, but have not used it. Whats the best grease to put in it?

Yeah, i really dont want to have to replace a driveway, cant afford that.

Once i find some grease im going to adapt your method of of one shot one use. What are you using for grease?
The tips in the SC right now are two #2.5 which is equal to #5 which should be a few psi above 2500
going to two #3 would put me at 1800 psi, unless im just completely miss reading the charts.
Still probably going to drop the psi just to be on the safe side.

I don't use any special grease, which is why I give it a shot each time I use it. I am sure there is another grade of grease that is "specially designed" for this type of application, but regular ol' grease is working great for me.

I found this - check out line #7. Lets just say I put "extra" grease in mine....More grease on the bearings means less water!

Yes, 2 @ #3's at 4gpm puts you around 1750-1800 psi. PRE-TREAT!!!

Guess ill go to Lowes today and pick up some grease. I read somewhere someone was putting in silicone and that also worked.

I always pre treat but have not post treated yet. I personally think it looks a little more professional vs a guy with just a wand and water. If any one ask why the suds, you get to explain to them that your actually killing the mold, mildew and bacteria. When you take a bath you use soap, when you wash your car, dishes, cloths you use soap so why not on your concrete and house.
