About to buy window cleaning tools need tool belt advice. Theres so many choices what the heck should I buy? Targeting store fronts and restaurants. Started a Unger list here it is. Ninja bucket on a belt, 1-18" ninja swivel T Bar, 1-18" monsoon strip washer 1ea 12" 18" ErgoTec Ninja squeegee , 1ea ErgoTec 12" 18" squeegee 1-12pk ErgoTec ninja 18" replacement channels. 1-12pk 18" ErgoTec replacement blades. And a couple Tiger mop sleeves. I do have the small stuff like rags, scrapes blades, micro cloth, bucket caddy , extention poles. Hows the list what am I missing? If there are more affordable quality tools I'm all for it. This list came out to $168

I purchased a Ettore belt with the chamois loop about 10 years back and it has worked very nice. The belt is stiff enough to not fold over on itself. I use the standard Unger "Bucket on a belt" and have one of the Ettore double pouch rag holders on it along with a 6" scraper.

Don't go too crazy with fancy tools! I have purchased so much stuff over the years and still come back to the basic stuff. 14",18", 24" aluminum channels and the standard 14" & 18" monsoon ergo tec mops. Unless you plan on doing a lot of store front work, Don't purchase the really big mops and channels. I have a 36" Unger mop and channel but rarely use it.

Don't be tempted to purchase the cheap stuff!!! It is harder on your hands, Is prone to cracking and simply won't last. I have used Unger products for 32 years and it's hard to beat their tools when it comes to the quality of plastic used in the pole handles, Cone tips, Mop handles etc...

Unless Ettore has changed the composition of the plastic used in their pole tips and locking collars, They are prone to cracking if dropped on concrete or asphalt.

Found a great deal on the ninja handle channel combo will buy them and skip their channels opting for the Sorbo. So which of the Sorbo channels should I buy? Regular, wide body and what rubber ? Is a Wagtail something I should start getting use to from the start?
2nd has window cleaning opened more doors for commercial pressure washing flat work accounts?
Seems like an easier sale window cleaning and bigger paydays later on.

The Ninja handles only work with wide body channels. I prefer the Sorbo Quicksilver channel.
As for Wagtail I've never been a fan.
We've gotten a couple flatwork jobs because we offer window cleaning so they can get a one stop service.

1st exterior window job landed yesterday think it was 137 pc or so. Tomorrow I'll have to buy some Home Depot Unger 12" 18" to get buy on. The windows were an up sell and will fill all day tomorrow or into February since I'm learning and slow. Good training job thou

I have the ninja channels. What's so different about the sorbo's?

Well finished my 1st window job today it was actually pretty fun breaking things up. Plus it didn't kick my ass. Lower windows were pretty tough. Had to buy ungers pro squeegee's a 12 - 18 at home depot. The 12" flat out garbage but the 18 was nicer and actually easier to wield, go figure. Only had a crap strip washer and no boab so it took much longer walking to the bucket every 3-4 windows. Lots of hard water staining below 4ft.
Think the window gig is really going to payoff and help me expand my business 2x's faster. Within 4.5 hours I passed out 2 or 3 cards from pedestrian traffic asking can you do my windows and plus 1 appointment Friday for residential estimate. Thats more ppl I've had approach me since June pressure washing. Highly doubt most jobs would have the appointment potential because it was a medical imaging facility with a ton of traffic but a guy can hope.
2 questions the glass/frames were nasty with what believe is bug crap or palm tree and shrub sap. It looked more like tree and shrub sap dotting the glass. I pressure washed the building prior with a strong mix which hardly touched this dotting. It wasn't however on the painted stucco just the glass and aluminum frames. 1 What solution recipe would best break it down before scraping? 2 And do you include heavy frame scrubbing in you're estimate?
My solution was Dawn, Joy and ammonia just guessed a couple squirts and 1 cup ammonia to 4 gal h20. Fun afternoon thou

Is it definitely sap or are they black dots? Black dots are shotgun, also called artillery fungus.

I always liked Sorbo wide body channels, but have been sticking with the Ninja channels lately. One of my employees likes Sorbo better.
Haven't found any prohibitive issues with the Ninjas except sometimes the end clips 'open' up. Not often, though.
I also think that the Ninja channels are slightly more durable after long time usage.

Joseph, it's true that you don't need to go hog wild right away on all types of different items.
Having key sizes will get you through all challenges. I can do all my storefronts quite efficiently with 2 or 3 different pole sizes, three different channel sizes, and a well-equipped tool belt which happens to be Ninja btw.

The Ninja BOAB specifically has larger slots to deal with the end clips of the Ninja channels.

It's always a matter of preference when it comes to tool brand or style.
Personally, over many years and miles on squeegee channels, I'd rate Sorbo wide body A and Ninja wide body A+. Back when I was using longer channels my favorite was the 26" Sorbo Quicksilver.

Mulch oh man a pita it was just put down that morning. My sneakers are still red. Artillery fungus I guess it was then. Looked like the windows were sharted on. I assume the fungus is born at the dump then transported? Great info I'll be using it. Closed the 2nd window job yesterday for next Thursday hopefully my other tool get delivered by then.
